Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to drive Grab's business growth through bit by bit insight and finally see the improvement of business indicators.\nWe are looking for a backend engineer to build our navigation product to help our driver partners to finish their jobs in a most effective way. We will need your excellent engineering skills to improve our business experience (guidance, timing control, interaction with realtime singles, instrumentation & analytics etc.). And also we would like you to give full play to your talents, boldly propose creative ideas, and practice them with team members.\nThe Day-to-Day Activities:\nDesign and implement highly reliable and scalable distributed microservice systems.\nContinuously optimize and iterate experience issues in key business indicators, such as ETA and routing.\nMaintain the stability and cost of the most critical online services in the team.\nCollaborate with cross-team stakeholders such as product managers, UI designers and data analysts to ship world-class products to customers' hands.\nParticipate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.\nThe Must-Haves:\n5+ years of experience in software engineering in a distributed systems environment.\nStrong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.\nExperience in developing and maintaining large scale micro-services.\nPassionate about building products and features to accelerate business growth\nYou can be a good coder in any programming language, but willing to work on Golang. Proficiency in Golang will be a strong advantage.\nThe Nice-to-Haves:\nStrong large-scale source code reading and business disassembly capabilities\nPerformance optimization or troubleshooting of complex systems, such as Redis, MQ\nFamiliarity with cloud systems such as AWS or Azure.\nGood English Communication\n1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field.\n2. Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Java.\n3. Strong computer fundamentals, including understanding of data structures, algorithms, databases, operating systems, and computer networks.\n4. Familiar with SQL and basic database concepts; prior knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch is preferred.\n5. Basic understanding of data parsing, data cleaning, or data pipelines.\n6. Experience using AI tools to assist in learning, development, or data processing, such as using tools like Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Copilot for coding, troubleshooting, documentation, data analysis, or efficiency improvement, and the ability to reasonably judge and verify AI-generated results.\n7.
