:\n\n- Collaborates with architects, application designers, business system analysts and testing specialists to deliver high quality solutions.\n\n- Develop and maintain Mainframe applications to meet project requirements.\n\n- Reviews and analyzes large-scale systems.\n\n- Create design and other related artifacts throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through completion and maintenance as defined by Project Life Cycle processes.\n\n- Provide effort and duration estimates associated with the design and development phase of the SDLC.\n\n- Participate in the review of test plans and packages to ensure all design requirements are met.\n\n- Participate in the review of post implementation and verification artifacts to ensure all systemic changes are operating as designed.\n\n- Assist in production and other support activities and resolve issues that may arise and perform research activities as assigned.\n\n- Keeps current with trends in emerging technologies.\n\n- Provides coaching to development team and peers on tools, techniques, and processes.\n\nCore skills / experience :\n\n- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.\n\n- 5+ years of Mainframe Development experience.\n\n- Excellent programming skills in Mainframe, PL1, IMS DB, COBOL, JCL, DB2, MQ.\n\n- Experience working with modern Mainframe DevOps tools (Compuware, IBM, Microfocus).\n\n- Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.\n\n- Experience in creating the design documents High Level & Detail Level Design Documents.\n\n- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can explain concepts to both business and IT stakeholders.\n\n- Experience with Onsite/Offshore model.\n\nNice to have :\n\n- Working knowledge of SAS.\n\n- Working knowledge of Focus, Telon.\n\n- Knowledge of the financial and insurance industries including Group Benefits / Retirement products and business domains.\n\n- Experience with Unix Solaris 10.0, Microfocus Cobol, Net Express, Server Express, Dimensions, Unix sync sort, VSAM Files.\n\n- Experience with distributed development tools e.g. Eclipse, Visual Studio etc.\n\nSkills\nMainframe, COBOL, DB2, JCL, MQ,
