In this role, you will turn customer and market needs into practical solutions, guide prototypes through testing and release, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams. You will contribute to new product development and cost-reduction initiatives while building expertise in both embedded software and electrical hardware.\nWhat makes this role exciting: You will apply strong software architecture and development skills while expanding your hardware knowledge to solve real-world engineering challenges.\nWhat You Will Do at Graco\nDevelop Innovative Products\nDevelop embedded firmware and software for new products and cost-reduction initiatives.\n\nContributetoproduct specifications and translate requirements into practical design concepts.\n\nRead and interpret circuit schematics, hardware drawings, and software code.\n\nIdentify applicable standards and analyze designs for compliance.\n\nUse engineering tools and techniques, including circuit simulation and software analysis, to evaluate designs.\n\nDefine and lead prototype development, laboratory testing, and field testing.\n\nReview technical documentation, including instruction manuals and product literature.\n\nPartner with manufacturing to develop effective production processes.\n\nLead Projects\nLead small new product development projects and coordinate work across the project team.\n\nComplete project feasibility and pre-production authorizations.\n\nCreate and maintain schedules, track progress, and communicate risks early.\n\nSupport release-for-sale activities and provide clear oral and written status updates.\n\nShape Solutions Around Customer Needs\nIdentify new product opportunities by understanding customer needs and market trends.\n\nEvaluate Graco and competitive products to uncover opportunities for improvement.\n\nPropose and develop technologies that solve meaningful customer challenges.\n\nSupport Products and Grow Your Expertise\nSupport products by preparing Engineering Change Orders, troubleshooting issues in manufacturing, the lab, and customer locations, and initiating corrective actions.\n\nStay current on developments in embedded systems, electrical engineering, and relevant industry standards.\n\nBuild knowledge of Graco products, operating systems, customer applications, and quality processes.\n\nMonitor emerging trends in customer markets and apply insights to product development.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat You Will Bring to Graco\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.\n\n3+years of successful new product development experience.\n\nHands-on experience with embedded Linux, real-time operating systems (RTOS), C/C++, object-oriented programming, and/orGit.\n\nStrong engineering judgment and technical problem-solving skills.\n\nClear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.\n\nAbility to recognize customer needs and market trends that influence product requirements.\n\nAccelerators\nExperience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CODESYS.\n\nExperience in a global industrial manufacturing environment.\n\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
