This role will manage small product development projects, create and maintain schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion. The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will identify new product opportunities by understanding customer needs and evaluating market trends, while proposing innovative solutions. The position also involves providing product support through troubleshooting, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining technical standards, all while staying current with industry advancements and Graco’s evolving product line.\nWhat You Will Do at Graco\nProduct Development and Engineering Tasks\nPerform engineering tasks in the development of new products and cost reduction.\n\nParticipate in the development of Product Specifications.\n\nProduce conceptual designs and guide the development process to create practical designs.\n\nCreate detailed design drawings and identify applicable standards.\n\nProvide analysis of designs to applicable standards using engineering tools like Finite Element Analysis.\n\nReview instruction manuals and product literature.\n\nDefine and lead prototype development and lab/field tests.\n\nConduct design reviews and safety reviews.\n\nWork with manufacturing on process development.\n\nProject Leadership and Management\nLead small new product development projects as required.\n\nComplete project feasibility studies and Pre-Production authorizations.\n\nCreate and maintain project schedules and manage projects to meet deadlines.\n\nCollaborate with team members to ensure completion of all development steps.\n\nIdentify and communicate threats to schedules to appropriate management.\n\nParticipate in release-for-sale activities and provide regular project status reports.\n\nCustomer-Centric Innovation and Market Awareness\nIdentify new product opportunities by recognizing customer needs and evaluating Graco and competitive products.\n\nPropose and develop suitable technologies to meet customer needs.\n\nStay current with developments in the technical field, Graco’s product line, and operational systems.\n\nMonitor Graco and industry design standards, Quality Management System, and emerging market trends.\n\nProduct Support and Continuous Improvement\nDirect and perform standard product support activities, including analyzing and writing Engineering Change Orders.\n\nTroubleshoot product issues in manufacturing, lab, or customer sites and initiate corrective actions.\n\nWork effectively in a team environment and contribute to knowledge development.\n\nApply knowledge of Graco customer applications and requirements.\n\nWhat You Will Bring to Graco\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field.\n\n3+ years of experience in new product development with demonstrated repeated success producing innovative and successful products.\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\n\nExcellent engineering/technical aptitude.\n\nAccelerators\nGlobal industrial manufacturing experience and knowledge.\n\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and unrestricted basis.
