They will create detailed circuit designs, software code, and guide projects from conceptualization through prototyping and testing. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead small projects, manage timelines, address challenges, and coordinate team efforts. With a strong focus on understanding market trends and customer needs, this individual will identify new product opportunities and propose innovative solutions. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and stay current on emerging technologies.\nWhat You Will Do at Graco\nProduct Development and Engineering Tasks\nPerform electrical hardware and software engineering tasks in developing new products and cost reduction.\nParticipate in the development of Product Specification.\nProduce conceptual designs and guide the development process to create practical designs.\nCreate detailed circuit and hardware drawings and software code.\nIdentify applicable standards and provide analysis of the design to these standards.\nUse engineering analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Circuit simulation, software analysis tools).\nReview instruction manuals and product literature.\nDefine and lead prototype development, lab, and field tests.\nWork with manufacturing on process development.\nProject Leadership and Management\nLead small new product development projects as required.\nComplete project feasibility and Pre-Production authorizations.\nCreate and maintain project schedules.\nManage projects to meet schedules, including:Working with team members to ensure all development steps are completed satisfactorily.\nIdentifying and communicating threats to schedules to appropriate management.\n\nParticipate in release-for-sale activities.\nProvide periodic oral and written reports of project status.\nWork effectively in a team environment.\nCustomer-Focused Innovation and Product Support\nParticipate in identifying new product opportunities for Graco by:Recognizing customer product needs.\nEvaluating Graco and competitive products.\nProposing and developing the right technology to meet customer needs.\n\nDirect and perform standard product support activities such as:Analyzing and writing Engineering Change Orders.\nTroubleshooting product problems in manufacturing, lab, or customer sites.\nInitiating corrective action activities.\n\nContinuous Learning and Market Insight\nLearn, participate in development, and apply knowledge of:Developments in the technical field to maintain technical knowledge.\nGraco product line, operational systems, and design standards.\nGraco Quality Management System and customer applications.\nEmerging trends in customers' markets.\n\nStay up to date on industry trends and Graco's evolving product lines.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWhat You Will Bring to Graco\nBachelor’s degree in electrical, computer or software engineering or equivalent field.\n5+ years of experience in new product development with demonstrated repeated success producing innovative and successful products.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nExcellent engineering/technical aptitude.\nStrong mentorship and training skills.\nStrong project management skills.\nAccelerators\nGlobal industrial manufacturing experience and knowledge.\nExperience in Embedded System development. \nMaster’s degree preferred.\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and unrestricted basis.
