Their software ecosystem includes onboard systems, ground-control applications, real-time telemetry, video streaming, visualization, and operator interfaces.\nWe are looking for a hands-on Rust Software Engineer with strong experience building desktop/UI applications, real-time software, and interactive visualization systems.\nThe ideal candidate has substantial professional experience with Rust and has worked on software involving ground-control stations, drones, mapping, 3D visualization, telemetry, simulation, or other complex technical user interfaces.\nDeep robotics experience is helpful but not essential. Strong software engineering, UI, visualization, and real-time application experience are more important.\nCONTRACT: Long term contract or EOR model\nLOCATIONS: REMOTE\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and improve ground-control and operator-facing applications for autonomous and drone systems.\nBuild high-performance software primarily using Rust.\nDevelop responsive desktop GUIs and technical user interfaces for monitoring and controlling complex systems.\nImplement telemetry, real-time data visualization, system status monitoring, and operator workflows.\nWork with 2D/3D visualization, maps, sensor data, or other interactive graphical components.\nIntegrate software with drones, robotic platforms, embedded systems, and external services.\nDevelop real-time communication and data-streaming functionality.\nContribute to video-processing and streaming workflows.\nOptimize application performance, memory usage, multithreading, latency, and responsiveness.\nContribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.\nMaintain high engineering standards through testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and structured debugging.\nRequirements\nAt least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.\nStrong, recent professional experience developing production software in Rust.\nExperience building desktop applications, GUIs, visualization tools, or operator-facing software.\nExperience with UI frameworks such as egui, Qt, GTK, Tauri, or comparable technologies.\nExperience with real-time data, telemetry, networking, streaming, or event-driven systems.\nStrong understanding of multithreading, memory management, performance optimization, and asynchronous programming.\nExperience working in Linux environments.\nStrong software architecture and debugging skills.\nExperience in one or more of the following would be particularly valuable:\n Drone ground-control software or Ground Control Stations (GCS)\nUAV or autonomous-system operator interfaces\n3D visualization, mapping, GIS, or simulation software\nRobotics visualization or monitoring tools\nTelemetry dashboards and real-time control applications\nVideo streaming or processing
