We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.\nGeneral Summary\nThe Emulsion Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an asphalt emulsion distributor truck to transport and apply emulsion materials used in roadway construction and maintenance.Essential Job Accountabilities\nSafely operate an emulsion distributor truck to on construction projects and public roadways.\nApply tack coat, prime coat, fog seal, chip seal, and/or related applications on road surfaces.\nSet and maintain proper spray bar nozzles, valves, pumps and pressure, temperature and heating systems, as well as application rates to ensure proper operation.\nPerform pre- and post-inspections and complete required logs, pursuant to DOT regulations, state, federal and company guidelines.\nCommunicate efficiently paving team to coordinate application timing and coverage.\nMaintain proper documentation of loads, deliveries, and daily production reports.\nComply with all DOT, state, and local truck and highway regulations and procedures.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEducation\n Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.\nWork Experience\n2-3 years’ experience operating distributor trucks or similar construction equipment, preferred.\nExperience with chip and slurry seal operations.\nKnowledge of asphalt emulsion applications and roadway construction operations.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nAbility to safely operate vehicles/equipment through all types of environments, including off road and job sites.\nAbility to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).\nAbility to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.\nAbility to work in safety sensitive construction settings, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.\nAbility to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.\nAbility to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces.\nPhysical Demands\nPhysical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.\nLifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.\nAdditional Requirements/Skills\nComply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.\nAbility and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct daily.\nAbout Granite Construction Incorporated\nGranite Construction Incorporated is a member of the S&P 400 Index and is the parent company of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation's largest heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers.
