The role ensures compliance with project specifications and promotes continuous improvement of company standard practices. For the Federal Division, the role also supports complex federal pursuits and projects by integrating design, estimating, procurement, permitting, stakeholder decisions, and construction activities into executable schedules from proposal through closeout.Location of project is Christmas Valley, OR.\nPosition will be filled in either Christmas Valley, OR or Westminster, CO.\nEssential Job Accountabilities\nOversee planning and scheduling functions, including policy, process, and procedures, to meet overall operational needs and company objectives\nPartner with project stakeholders to develop an approved baseline schedule that aligns with proposed sequencing and short-interval schedules, ensuring contractual requirements are met\nCreate high-quality CPM schedules with resource and cost loads to generate necessary reports for addressing questions on the planned project approach\nPrepare detailed schedule narratives for all formal submissions to accurately convey the company’s position to the client\nIntegrate multiple planning and scheduling software and methodologies into a cohesive plan to streamline project execution\nUpdate CPM schedules to reflect requirements, identified challenges, and their implications on proposed sequencing, ensuring successful project completion\nReview and understand project-specific scheduling specifications and plans, providing guidance on contractual language to the project team to mitigate risks\nPrepare weekly prospective schedule TIA’s, updates, and reconciliation schedules, ensuring monthly submissions are compliant with contractual obligations\nSupport the development of companywide planning and scheduling guidance, processes, and procedures to enhance corporate, regional, and project-level planning and scheduling capacity\nCommunicate effectively with project stakeholders, leveraging a strong understanding of heavy civil construction methodology and sequencing to facilitate planning\nFederal Pursuit and Preconstruction Support\nSupport federal pursuits by developing proposal schedules, milestone tables, phasing plans, procurement timelines, schedule narratives, and schedule graphics that communicate the team’s execution strategy.\nReview solicitations, technical requirements, milestones, access and security constraints, owner-furnished information, and other schedule-related requirements.\nCollaborate with pursuit leadership, estimating, design, procurement, operations, and project teams to align the schedule with the estimate, staffing plan, construction approach, and procurement strategy.\nSupport Progressive Design-Build and other delivery methods by integrating design releases, owner decisions, permitting, long-lead procurement, early work packages, construction, commissioning, and closeout.\nParticipate in pursuit strategy meetings, color reviews, risk workshops, interview preparation, and client presentations.\nIdentify schedule risks, critical decisions, acceleration opportunities, and alternative execution strategies, and support schedule continuity from pursuit through project completion.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree required in engineering, construction management, project management, or comparable discipline\nEquivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree\nAACEI PSP, PMI-SP or other professional planning and scheduling certification preferred\nWork Experience\n10+ years of full-time construction-related experience in project level planning and scheduling\nMinimum 75% career experience as a schedular for large heavy civil projects with a general contractor\nExperience in performing, monitoring, reviewing, and planning scheduling functions, including schedule development, controls, and analysis\nDemonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to planning and scheduling problems\nFederal construction, pursuit or proposal scheduling, alternative delivery, design-phase scheduling, or Progressive Design-Build experience preferred\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nThorough knowledge of planning and scheduling for heavy civil projects, including means and methods.\nMastery of Primavera P6, Powerproject, or Tilos, and ability to learn and teach various scheduling software.\nComprehension of CPM and PDM methodology, including network diagramming, WBS, task creation, and report preparation.\nFamiliarity with AACEI and PMI standards; knowledge of Linear, 4D, Lean, and TOC methodologies is a plus.\nStrong working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel for schedule data analysis.\nProven experience with cost and schedule databases.\nExceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.\nEffective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing, with experience in developing and presenting training.\nAbility to translate solicitation, design, estimating, procurement, and construction information into integrated proposal and project schedules.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
