We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.\nGeneral Summary\nThe Transport Driver is responsible for safely operating a variety of vehicles and trailers to transport freight and or equipment to and from various job sites located throughout Arizona. May require travel to other states, including but not limited to New Mexico and Texas. Essential Job Accountabilities\nSafely operate a tractor trailer combination including doubles and triples.\nEnsure all loads secured, safely load and unload freight and/or equipment at designated location. \nPerform pre- and post-inspections on truck, pursuant to DOT regulations, company guidelines and manufacture’s specifications.\nMaintain truck(s) and equipment according to the standards set in place by the company and manufacturer’s specifications.\nComply with all DOT, state, and local truck and highway laws, rules, and regulations.\nSafely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits.\nAccurately complete required documentation. \nAssist crews with other tasks as required when not transporting.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEducation\n Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Doubles/Triples and Tanker endorsement; Hazmat endorsement preferred.\nHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience, preferred.\nWork Experience\n3-5 years of tractor-trailer driving experience, required.\nExperience operating heavy equipment, preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to safely operate vehicles/equipment through all types of environments, including off road and job sites.\nAbility to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).\nAbility to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.\nAbility to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.\nAbility to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.\nPhysical Demands\nPhysical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.\nLifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.\nAdditional Requirements/Skills\nComply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.\nAbility and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct daily.\nAbout Granite Construction Incorporated\nGranite Construction Incorporated is a member of the S&P 400 Index and is the parent company of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation's largest heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers.
