We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.\nGeneral Summary\nThe welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.Essential Job Accountabilities\nPerform welding operations on pipe, vessels, structural skids and other equipment.\nAbility to weld both CS and SS piping.\nLayout, cut, fit and otherwise prepare material for welding.\nFabricate material from piping schematics and other drawings, working from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.\nOperate oxy-acetylene torch to cut, braze, weld and solder.\nResponsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.\nPerform quality detailing work, grinding, polishing, etc.\nIdentify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns, performing all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.\nComplete all appropriate documentation and paperwork.\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience\nCertification\nValid driver's license\nWelding certifications a plus, but not required\nWork Experience\nMinimum 2 years' experience in pipeline construction and welding procedures\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nPrior experience with drilling, welding casing is a plus.\nExperienced in Stick, Wire Feed, TIG\nExperience with conceptualizing and designing for fabrication\nForklift certification\nBe able to routinely lift heavy equipment up to 50 pounds\nWork within precise limits or standards of accuracy\nLook at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth\nHave good written and verbal communication skills\nBe able to promote the safety culture within our company by working within the safety policies established by Granite and our customers.\nBe willing to perform a variety of tasks as may be necessary to promote completion of work, including assisting on other projects as necessary.\nAdditional Requirements/Skills\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.\nThe employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools.\nThe employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.\nThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. \nComply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment\nAbility and willingness to abide by the Company’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis\nAbout Granite Construction Incorporated\nGranite Construction Incorporated is a member of the S&P 400 Index and is the parent company of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation's largest heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers.
