This job conducts on-the-job trainingEssential Job Accountabilities\nOversees workers who place forms for molding concrete, install reinforcing steel, and convey, pour, finish, and cure concrete.\n\nReads specifications sheets for information, such as sizes of aggregates and proportions of cement and water required, to insure that concrete is mixed according to specifications.\n\nInspects bracing and shoring of concrete forms to insure their stability before and during pouring.\n\nIndicates positions for pouring chutes and runways, cranes, or paving machines to facilitate conveying concrete from mixer to forms.\n\nTrains new workers.\n\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience\n\nWork Experience\n2 to 4 years\n\nKnowledge, Skill and Abilities\nPhysically, the worker must be capable of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical activity requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work and include significant walking or standing or pushing or pulling of arm or leg controls or working at a production rate.\nIntellectually the worker must be able to apply and interpret principles of rational systems (bookkeeping, engines, electronics, building), to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; must be competent in beginning algebra and geometry and should be skilled in the computation of discount, interest, profit and loss; commission, markup, and selling price; ratio, proportion; and percentage; surfaces, volumes, weights, and measures.
