We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.\n General Summary\nThis position is responsible for overseeing the entire General Accounting Department and the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures. Essential Job Accountabilities\nOversee accounting close activities including, but not limited to, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, fuel accounting, fixed assets, cash, stock-based compensation, investments and various other accounts to ensure a timely and accurate financial close.\n\nManage the timely and accurate completion of all balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure the financial statements are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.\n\nOversee the preparation of select internal and external reports, ensuring they are adequately reviewed and accurately stated.\n\nPerform impairment analyses for equity method affiliates and property, plant, and equipment (PP&E) as required by GAAP.\n\nManage accounting for foreign transactions, including financial statement translation and foreign currency transactions to ensure they are properly accounted for.\n\nEnsure requests from internal and external auditors are promptly responded to and all Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) requirements completed, to ensure the accuracy of the financial deadlines and timely filings.\n\nProvide leadership to ensure that internal customers are provided with consistently excellent service and participate in cross functional process improvement initiatives.\n\nGuide and mentor managers and staff to ensure staff development and departmental efficiency.\n\nRecommend and implement process improvements and best practices to facilitate an efficient process.\n\nResearch, analysis and other technical support to ensure transactions are recorded in a timely manner and in compliance with GAAP.\n\nEducation\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required \n\nMaster’s in Business Administration (MBA) a plus\n\nWork Experience\nMinimum 10 years’ progressive experience in a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting organizations with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial capacity\n\nExperience leading, coaching and developing staff and teams\n\nLarge enterprise system experience (Oracle e1 experience a plus)\n\nConstruction industry experience a plus\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nSolid technical accounting skills and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)\n\nInternally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills\n\nAble to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought out conclusions\n\nAdvanced computer skills required (Excel, Word, Microsoft Office suite, large enterprise systems, etc.)\n\nAbility to work with and manage a high level of detailed information\n\nAbility to properly manage and prioritize resources, people and projects\n\nTeam player, with strong leadership skills, who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment\n\nSound decision making ability with the experience to balance consensus against authority as appropriate\n\nExcellent consultative and communication skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels within the organization\n\nSuperior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges\n\nAbility to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines\n\nAdvanced written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information\n\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
