Responsibilities include the development of the engineering plan, management of procedures, creation of standard work, management of resources to meet on time delivery while assuring compliance and maintaining cost targets per the content of the contract.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead and develop engineering team members.\nProvide coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.\nCoordinate training and development plans for technical staff.\nManage engineering support for customer projects from RFQ through production handoff.\nSupport cost estimation and quoting activities with technical input.\nEnsure design for manufacturability (DFM), cost-effectiveness.\nOversee the development, optimization, and documentation of manufacturing processes.\nCoordinate resources and job assignments to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to project schedules.\nInterface with customers to provide information on current projects.\nCollaborate with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Production, and Program Management to ensure timely and efficient project execution.\nCoordinate tooling, fixtures, and production line setup in collaboration with operations.\nDemonstrate ownership of engineering documentation, including BOMs, work instructions, process flows, and test protocols.\nMaintain working knowledge of new technologies to improve operations and engineering processes.\nDemonstrate accountability for creating a safe, professional and clean environment.\nTrack and report on engineering KPIs (OTD, project milestones, Non-conformance RCCA).\nProvide regular updates for executive leadership and customer stakeholders.\nGeneral Responsibilities:\nProcess Improvement: Work to reduce and eliminate barriers and obstacles to improve overall cost and scheduling performance. \nLeadership Skills: Your leadership is expected to make it easier for employees to make quality products and make it easier for customers to do business with GSM. \nProfessional Conduct: Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors. \nTeamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and staff, collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals. \nEthics and Compliance: Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business \nRequirements\nQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nBachelor’s Degree in related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.\n7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in contract manufacturing. \n3+ years in a leadership or management role with direct reports.\nKnowledge of manufacturing methods, military specifications, and documentation systems is required. \nExperience in project management responsibilities.\nExperience in defense related job fabrication and welding environment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office products.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC machining, Painting, Fabrication, NDT and Welding.\nDemonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling and drawings).\nDemonstrated proficiency in Root Cause and Corrective Action.\nExperience with New Product Introduction (NPI).\nExperience with ERP/MRP systems.\nExperience with inspections tools (Laser Tracker, CMM).\nExcellent human interaction skills.\nAbility to obtain security clearance.\nDue to the nature and importance of GSM’s work, our positions require access to export-controlled information.
