In this role, you will act as the technical authority across multiple projects, defining architecture, guiding development teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery. You will work closely with Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, and AI/Data teams to design modern distributed systems, including AI-enabled applications (LLMs, RAG, Agentic workflows).\nThis is a hands-on architecture role - combining system design, technical leadership, and active contribution to complex implementations\nThe key responsibilities of this role will include:\nDefine and own end-to-end architecture for software systems, including backend (Java/Python), frontend (React/Angular), data and integrations\n\nDesign modular, microservices-based and event-driven architectures\n\nEnsure systems are scalable, secure, and highly available\n\nContribute to the design of AI-powered systems (RAG pipelines, LLM integrations, agent-based workflows)\n\nCollaborate with AI specialists to integrate ML/LLM components into production systems\n\nAct as technical authority across multiple teams and projects\n\nGuide Technical Leads and development teams\n\nDesign cloud architectures (Azure/AWS)\n\nWork with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines\n\nDefine data architecture, data flows and ETLs\n\nDesign schemas for Relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Redis)\n\nTranslate business needs into technical solutions\n\nSupport technical proposals and client discussions\n\nTo be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):\n6+ years of experience in Software development\n\nProven experience as Senior/Lead Engineer or Software Architect\n\nDeep expertise in Java/Spring Boot, Modular/Microservices architecture and Event-driven systems (Kafka, messaging)\n\nStrong understanding of System/API design (scalability, resilience, performance)\n\nExperience with Relational databases, Cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Docker and Kubernetes\n\nStrong technical leadership and decision-making skills\n\nExcellent communication skills\n\nAbility to lead across teams\n\nWhat’s in it for You?\nAt Grant Thornton Greece, we believe that great work deserves great rewards!
