The Graphic Design Intern supports various internal team members by designing and performing production-level design tasks while learning and applying basic design principles.\nAs a Creative team member, the Graphic Design Intern gains exposure to department projects and initiatives and learns from accomplished professionals in graphic design, digital design, and marketing communications.\nEssential Functions\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nLearns how the Graphcom team maintains, translates, and extends the look and feel of digital and print-related marketing projects\nApplies and contributes to Graphcom’s goal of providing superior service to all organizations and people we meet, including customers, vendors, suppliers, co-workers, and the public\nWorks with other designers to develop, design, or create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products\nObserves, receives, and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources\nWorks closely with Art Director or other senior staff to organize, plan, and prioritize work by developing specific goals and plans \nConsistently delivers high-quality services to all clients\nEnsures user friendliness in digital projects, including web design, email, app design, etc.\nDevelops and implements design language\nWorks closely with Art Director or senior staff to manage resources within budget and project schedule\nConceptualizes and develops artwork following brand guidelines, including applying proper typography techniques, fonts, and layouts using design software\nResearches, develops, presents, and executes photography campaign direction\nMakes edits as requested by the client\nChecks all work for spelling errors and has a second set of eyes review work before sending for client review\nProvides write-ups to team members to sell design to the client\nMaintains brand standards and upholds creative excellence \nPersonally accountable for the accuracy of all final art, including trim, bleed, crop marks, size, color setting, etc.\nAnnual review of job description\nMaintains the highest level of security and confidentiality as defined by company policy\nOther duties as assigned by the VP, Creative, Creative Director,or President/CEO\nMinimum Job Requirements\nAttendance at or graduation from a 4-year college with a degree in a related field and/or Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design is preferred. \n0-1 year of relevant design experience\nDesign ability and proficiency in software applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Suite is required. \nWeb design and photography skills are a plus. \nStrong sense of concept development\nExcellent interpersonal skills\nSelf-starter willing to learn, develop, and polish the skills needed to succeed in a creative agency environment (problem-solving, presentation, project management, etc.)\nIn-person attendance required\nComplete all required training courses upon hire and annually thereafter\nMaintain compliance with all company policies and procedures\nWorking Conditions\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
