We design advanced semiconductors and data center hardware that provide the specialized processing power needed to advance AI while improving the efficiency required for broad adoption.\nAs part of SoftBank Group, Graphcore belongs to a family of companies developing transformative technologies. Our AI Engineering Campus in Austin supports the infrastructure used to develop and test the next generation of AI systems.\nThe Opportunity\nAs a Digital Twin Engineering Intern, you will support the development of virtual representations of data lab spaces, equipment, and infrastructure using NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD, the Universal Scene Description framework.\nYou will work with experienced engineers on clearly defined modeling, data integration, validation, and documentation tasks. The internship provides practical experience applying engineering knowledge to digital twins, 3D models, and facilities data in a multidisciplinary technical environment.\nType: 12-week summer internship\n Timing: May - August (exact dates to be confirmed)\n Commitment: Full-time\nWhat You Will Do\nSupport the development and maintenance of digital twins for data lab environments using NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD.\nCreate accurate 3D representations of lab spaces, equipment, and infrastructure from available engineering information.\nConvert and organize engineering and 3D data into reusable OpenUSD assets and consistently structured scenes.\nIntegrate mechanical, electrical, and facilities infrastructure information into digital twin models.\nCompare digital models with engineering drawings, layouts, technical records, and physical environments to identify discrepancies.\nWork with engineers and other stakeholders to gather the information required to build and update digital models.\nFollow established modeling conventions, workflows, file-management practices, and documentation standards.\nDocument digital twin assets, modeling decisions, data sources, and working methods so others can understand and reuse the work.\nTest digital twin scenes and assets, identify issues, and work with team members to investigate and resolve them.\nCommunicate progress, questions, and technical challenges clearly and suggest practical improvements to digital twin workflows and virtual lab usability.\nWhat You Will Bring\nCurrent enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, integrated engineering, or a closely related field.\nA foundation in engineering principles and an interest in applying them to digital representations of physical environments.\nExperience with, or a strong interest in learning, 3D modeling, simulation, visualization, or digital twin technologies.\nAbility to interpret basic engineering drawings, layouts, diagrams, or other technical documentation.\nAn analytical approach to problem-solving and careful attention to accuracy and detail.\nAbility to organize assigned work, follow defined processes, learn unfamiliar software, and seek guidance when needed.\nClear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with NVIDIA Omniverse or another digital twin platform.\nFamiliarity with OpenUSD or other scene-description and 3D data formats.\nExperience with CAD or 3D modeling tools through coursework, university projects, personal projects, research, or a previous internship.\nBasic understanding of data centers, laboratories, building systems, facilities infrastructure, or related engineering environments.\nExposure to scripting or programming, particularly Python.\nExperience with engineering models, simulation tools, automation, or visualization software.\nThese qualifications are helpful, not required. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every preferred qualification.\nEqual Opportunity and Accommodations\nGraphcore is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.\nGraphcore is committed to an inclusive and accessible hiring process. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in the application or interview process, please let the recruiting team know.\nCandidate Privacy\nPersonal information submitted during the recruiting process will be handled in accordance with Graphcore's applicable candidate privacy notices.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4704,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Industrial IoT (IIoT)","Processors, MCUs & AI Chips","AI Chips & Accelerators"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T16:46:42Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":69,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:early","comp:junior,brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/graphcore-digital-twin-engineering-intern","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/graphcore-digital-twin-engineering-intern.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T20:56:44Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3366,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1634,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
