You’ll tackle challenging problems alongside a team who support your development and are as excited about your success as you are.\n\nWhat you’llwork on \nPut your coding skills to work on tools that help developers understand and improve how software runs on Graphcorehardware. \nAs a Graduate Software Engineer in the Analysis Tools Team, you’lldesign, developand test features across libraries, command-line tools and graphical applications. Your work will help users see where time, memory and hardware resources are being used, so they can optimise applications and resolve issues. \nYou’llfix bugs and supportend-users with guidance on using the tools. It’sa chance to connect software development with the hardware beneath it and see how useful profiling information helps developers get more from Graphcoresystems. \nYour team and support \nThe Analysis Tools Team works close to Graphcore’shardware and software stack. It collects profiling information, processes itand turns it into insight that developers can use. \nYou’lllearn from experienced engineers through practical engineering, regular code reviewsand open technical discussions. You’llbe supported to test ideas and build confidence as you develop features and solve problems. \nDecisions are driven by profiling data, customer needsand team experience. You’llbe encouraged to ask questions, challenge existing approachesand share ideas for making things better. Take responsibility for your work and speak up when you spot a problem or need support. \nHow you’lllearn and grow \nDuring the two-year programme, you’llbuild practical experience in software development, testing and performance profiling, working across libraries, command-line tools and graphical applications. \nHands-on debugging and code reviews will help you develop your engineering judgement: how to investigate a problem, test an approach and use feedback to improve your work. \nWorking on tools used by developers and supporting customers will help you understand their needs, explain technical findings clearly and see how your work connects to the wider hardware and software system. \nWhat we'relooking for \nProgramming experience in one or more languages- preferably Rust, TypeScript -gained through study, projects, internships, placementsor practical work \nA logical approach to debugging, testingand solving unfamiliar problems \nExposure to CI/CD pipelines, build tools, version controlor collaborative software development practices \nClear communication and a willingness to learn through feedback, ask questions and share ideas \nBring an interest in TypeScript, React, Rust, C++ or other technologies used by the team, and curiosity about performance profiling, relational databases, memory management, multithreadingor hardware utilisation. You don’tneed experience with every technology we use. \nYou can demonstratethese skills through coursework, a dissertation, personal or team projects, internships, placementsor other relevant experience.
