This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nAssisting clients with state and local tax matters related to income tax, sales and use tax, and tax controversy engagements\nResearching and analyzing state and local tax laws, regulations, case law, administrative guidance, and tax authority positions as it relates to our client’s business\nPreparing nexus studies, apportionment analyses, combined reporting evaluations, and state tax planning projects\nAssisting with sales and use tax reviews, exposure analyses, voluntary disclosure agreements, and multistate tax consulting engagements\nResponding to notices and inquiries received from federal, state, and local taxing authorities\nSupporting audit, examination, appeal, and controversy matters by gathering documentation, preparing responses, and communicating with taxing authorities\nPreparing technical memoranda, written recommendations, and client deliverables addressing complex state and local tax issues\nMonitoring legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments and evaluating their potential impact on client tax positions and operations\nCollaborating with partners and professionals across service lines to deliver integrated tax solutions and exceptional client service\nBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and high-quality work product\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Masters degree in Accounting or related field\nMinimum of 3+ years of relevant experience\nCPA, CPA candidate, EA, and/or JD preferred\nExperience with state income tax, sales and use tax, tax controversy, or multistate tax matters\nKnowledge of state and local tax compliance, audit defense, tax research, and consulting engagements\nExcellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Shopify, Avalara, and Avatax\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment\nMaintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others\nWhy Grassi?\nOur firm is consistently ranked by Vault.com and the Best Places to Work group for our commitment to compensation, paid time off, work-life balance, culture and more.
