It’s the spirit of our people - the passion, commitment, and a great team environment - that makes our company a great place to work.\nWho we want…\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution\nProfessional Engineering License is required.\n7-10 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong background in Gray’s core markets.\nProven expertise in electrical systems design, including lighting, power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, telecommunications, and security systems.\nIn-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, and client-specific requirements.\nAdvanced proficiency in Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination workflows, with experience leading model integration and clash detection.\nAdvanced proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar).\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills for system analysis, cost modeling, and performance optimization.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to lead client discussions, present technical concepts, and coordinate across disciplines.\nDemonstrated ability to manage project deliverables, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic planning and quality assurance.\nDetail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.\nAbility to travel up to 25% of the time\nQualifications\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement electrical systems for data centers, including medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems\nDevelop and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings\nApproves and signs off on work, acting as Engineer of Record\nEnsure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards\nUnderstanding of telecom and fire alarm design, including prescriptive, performance-based, and full detailed design approaches\nCollaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications, design criteria, and project budgets\nStay up-to-date with advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies, and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure\nIs accountable for project success in the electrical discipline.\nTravel to project sites for engineering surveys, data collection for system studies, audits, and client collaboration\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus ten (10) years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, with a focus on data center infrastructure, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nExtensive experience in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.\nUtilize design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power)\nPerform system studies including arc flash, load, short circuit, and coordination analyses\nUnderstanding of telecom and fire alarm design, including prescriptive, performance-based, and full detailed design approaches\nStrong knowledge of NEC (NFPA70)\nStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills\nAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with clients\nAbility to think creatively and identify opportunities to enhance the client experience.\nExperience working with Revit.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills\nExperience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
