At Gray, you’ll find a culture built on teamwork, accountability, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.\n“Personal growth precedes Gray’s growth.” - Stephen Gray, President & CEO, Gray, Inc.\nWhat We Expect\nLead day-to-day field operations for complex, mission-critical data center construction projects.\nOversee construction activities from site mobilization through final turnover and commissioning.\nTakes ownership of all aspects of the field activities from start up to completion on their projects. These activities include, but are not limited to project safety, quality, schedule, planning, jobsite logistics, leading the on-site management team, & subcontractor coordination and risk assessment.\nMaintaining and tracking overall project schedule as well as creating and maintaining a task specific two-three week lookahead. Use the schedule as a management tool to deliver the project on time. \nProvide real-time data to PM/Scheduler for schedule maintenance.\nEnsure Site Safety requirements are being met all times including both personnel and jobsite standards. Assist on-site safety personnel if needed, be able to safely stop work when infractions are found, and counsel subcontractors and team members when violations occur.\nTrain project team members on Gray software such as CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time and GoGray.\nConduct site, and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities on site so that all teams are working cooperatively throughout the project and with the project schedule.\nConduct monthly project reports to track overall progression of the project concerning safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget and customer relations.\nCollaboration with PM team to ensure timely buyout of subcontracts and to ensure procurement schedule is managed to meet project schedule.\nLead, teach, coach and train subordinates as to a professional contractual relationship with all parties involved with the project.\nDemonstrate through words, actions and Leads how to be firm but fair and to be professional in those relationships.\nEstablishes and manages a jobsite safety culture in accordance with Gray’s safety program.\nLeads by example and holds the site team accountable for adhering to Gray policies and procedures while teaching them and assisting them in achieving their goals.\nActively facilitates growth of team members (Mentoring).\nSet up and close out construction site.\nWalks the project daily to witness work going into place is being completed safely, meets quality standards and project schedule.\nCommunicates early and often and provide consistent factual information to the project team (i.e. project manager, design manager, customer, site team, subs, field ops, & etc.).\nConduct required meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities on site.\nReview all drawings, i.e. shop, architectural, structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.\nStudies project documents to ensure the project is being built per plans and specifications, and in accordance with the contract.\nReviews project budget with the Project Manager on a regular basis. Is in tune with project financials and aware of the impacts the site team can have on the budget.\nAssist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of Project Manager.\nMay assist Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers and participate in pre-award meetings.\nAssist in the preparation of various reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports.\nImplement and execute project closeout and punch list procedures.\nTakes ownership of overall coordination and management of project team including PM and DM to ensure buyout and procurement is on schedule once site activities start.\nAssumes ownership of schedule after mobilization and ensures proper management of schedule to allow proper closeout to meet or exceed customer expectations.\nOther duties may be assigned.\nQualifications\nWho We Want\n5+ years of industrial construction experience, with data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.\nMust have a minimum of 10+ years related construction experience.\nProven experience leading large-scale, complex construction projects from mobilization through commissioning and turnover.\nStrong understanding of mission-critical construction environments and the importance of schedule, quality, and safety.\nStrong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and critical path activities.\nPreferred experience would be candidates that have held the position of overall responsibility for field activities on the project site including collaboration between design, project, and schedule management.\nDemonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completions.\nMust be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.\nStrong people management skills.\nShould be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment and exemplifies Gray’s Core Values as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.\nMust possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications. Skills in utilizing bluebeam, Microsoft excel, and sharepoint.\nExperience working with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction technology is a plus.\nVisa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nThis position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S..
