It’s the spirit of our people - the passion, commitment, and a great team environment - that makes our company a great place to work. “Personal growth precedes Gray’s growth.” - Stephen Gray, President & CEO, Gray, Inc.\nVisa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nWho we want…\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.\nProfessional Engineering License is required.\n8-15 years of experience in civil design, with leadership or coordination responsibilities preferred.\nMust comply with safety requirements including wearing hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, and work boots.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with customers, project team members, governing agencies, subcontractors, consultants, and field personnel.\nAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Engineering Design software, stormwater modeling software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam).\nExperience in calculating earthwork quantities, establishing plan and profiles for roadways and pipelines, and determining quantities for pavement, pipe, drainage structures, erosion control, rock, open channels, and fencing.\nDemonstrated ability to lead design efforts, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to project planning and resource allocation.\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nEnergetic, self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to professional development.\nAbility to travel up to 25% of the time\nQualifications\nWhat we expect…\nLead and oversee civil design efforts for assigned projects, ensuring accurate, on-time, and on-budget delivery of design models and construction drawings.\nCollaborate with customers, contractors, reviewing agencies, engineering personnel, and architects throughout all project phases.\nCompile and analyze site data including geographic location, topography, access, utilities, soil types, subsurface conditions, environmental status, drainage, zoning, and regulations to assess cost, constructability, and scheduling.\nPrepare site improvement plans, specifications, drainage reports, and cost estimates for land development, ensuring compliance with customer RFPs and coordination with project managers.\nReview shop drawings, ensure NPDES compliance, submit field reports, and advise project teams on performance and alternatives.\nDevelop detailed design drawings and specifications using CAD software, including 2D and 3D models of infrastructure components.\nConduct site visits and field observations to collect data and ensure design accuracy.\nReview civil engineering codes and standards for compliance and prepare documentation for client and regulatory review.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives, including process updates, software upgrades, and improved\ndeliverables.\nModel core company values and coach team members in embodying them in their work.\nOther duties may be assigned.\nProvide technical direction and mentorship to junior designers and contribute to performance reviews and resource planning.\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
