It’s the spirit of our people - the passion, commitment, and a great team environment - that makes our company a great place to work.\nVisa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nWho we want…\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited college or university.\nProfessional Engineering License is required.\n8-10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering, with a strong background in industrial or commercial facility projects.•Proven expertise in mechanical systems design, including HVAC, piping, utility systems, and equipment layout in Gray's core markets.\nAdvanced proficiency in Bluebeam and 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with BIM workflows.\nStrong understanding of building codes and engineering standards, including IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable mechanical design regulations.\nDemonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, mentoring junior staff, and managing design deliverables across project phases.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills for system analysis, cost modeling, and performance optimization.\nFamiliarity with automation and control systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, VFDs) and their integration into mechanical infrastructure is a plus.\nAbility to assess existing mechanical systems and drive optimization strategies that improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and deliver measurable ROI.\nAbility to travel up to 25%\nQualifications\nWhat we expect…\nServe as technical lead and subject matter expert for mechanical design across complex, capital-intensive projects.\nLead the development of mechanical system architecture, including load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, and layout coordination.\nOversee the creation of engineering documentation, including specifications, procurement packages, system diagrams, and commissioning protocols.\nProvide strategic input during project planning, feasibility studies, and client engagements, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.\nActively contribute to business development, including proposal writing, client presentations, and relationship management.
