We hire people who want to solve hard physical problems at an industrial scale.\nThe Robotics Software Engineer: Government Projects will enable project success by leading the implementation of innovative robotic manufacturing systems that go beyond GMR's current product offerings. This role is for someone who thinks outside the box and wants to push the limits of what our systems can do, working across a mix of R&D software feature development and hands-on delivery for proof of concepts, pilot demonstrations and specialized systems.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and implement algorithms, systems, and architecture for high-DOF robotic systems working in manufacturing environments.\n\nPartner with Systems and Applications Engineers to define robotics software feature requirements needed for non-standard and R&D projects\n\nExecute proof-of-concept projects that demonstrate the capabilities of GrayMatter Robotics' (GMR) robotic technologies\n\nStay up to date with new research and novel findings in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.\n\nTest and evaluate current state-of-art algorithms and techniques of planning, learning, perception, and control.\n\nCollaborate with the Robotics Software team to maintain coding best practices and standards, so R&D prototypes can transition smoothly into the product codebase\n\nWill be responsible for maintaining any software features and versioning for systems deployed to govt facilities.\n\nRapidly modify and iterate on the current software stack\n\nRapidly test and prototype new inspection sensors, tools, and processes, partnering with sensor vendors to evaluate emerging technologies\n\nPartner with GMR software engineers to prototype new ideas, processes, and methods\n\nExport Control Requirements\nIn order to comply with the export regulations of the United States Government, it is required that the applicant must fall under one of the following categories: (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (i.e. current green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMaster’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field\n\n2+ years of demonstrated industry experience in developing, implementing, and testing algorithms for planning/learning/perception/control.\n\nSoftware development for complex function-based software that interacts with sensor inputs, control loops, and redundancy.\n\nProficiency in C++ and Python production-level coding.\n\nProficiency in working with ROS2 and other open-source libraries relevant to robotics.\n\nExcellent technical and analytical skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n4+ years of production deploying complex robotics systems\n\nExperience with R&D of robotics systems\n\nExperience with robot sensors including LiDARs, stereo/depth cameras\n\nExperience with 6DOF robot arms\n\nExperience with state-of-art robotics algorithms (e.g. VLA)\n\nGrayMatter Robotics provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
