You will own the DevOps, SecOps, cloud governance, and infrastructure architecture that underpins all of Grayscale's technology delivery. This is a shared enabling role. Your work will make delivery faster by making it safer, more observable, and more repeatable for other squads. You will partner closely with engineering leads, security, and architecture to build a modern, well-governed cloud environment. This role reports into the Head of Engineering.\nTech Stack:\nWe utilize AWS as our cloud platform, enabling scalable and secure infrastructure. Our infrastructure is managed using Terraform, with Docker and AWS Lambda and Fargate for containerization and deployment. We rely on GitLab for our CI/CD processes. There is significant opportunity to modernize our cloud posture, accelerate developer productivity, and formalize DevSecOps practices.\n Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, Docker, and related IaC tooling\nOwn and evolve CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient software delivery\nImplement and maintain DevSecOps practices including security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance automation\nDefine and enforce cloud governance policies, cost management, and architectural guardrails across the organization\nBuild observability and monitoring solutions that improve reliability, performance, and incident response across all platforms\nPartner with the security team to ensure ITGC evidence, audit readiness, and control frameworks are in place\nAccelerate developer productivity through self-service tooling, environment automation, and standardized deployment patterns\nEnsure high-quality infrastructure delivery through strong collaboration with product, engineering, and security\nSet architecture standards and technical direction for cloud and delivery, in coordination with engineering leadership\nStay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and platform engineering\nMentor engineers across the organization on infrastructure, cloud architecture, and operational excellence, acting as a leverage point for work you do not personally deliver\n Qualifications:\n8+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles with deep AWS experience.\nDemonstrable track record of setting technical direction that others adopted: a pattern, standard, or platform used beyond your own project.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nStrong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).\nDeep experience with containerization (Docker, ECS/EKS) and serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions).\nExpertise in CI/CD pipeline design and management, preferably with GitLab.\nSolid understanding of DevSecOps practices, security scanning, and compliance automation.\nDeep knowledge of cloud governance, cost optimization, and architectural best practices on AWS.\nAbility to translate business and engineering needs into infrastructure solutions and platform capabilities.\nStrong Agile proficiency with practical application to deliver incremental, high-quality solutions.\nExcellent analytical and communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and business stakeholders.\nAbility to manage complex project timelines in fast-paced environments.\nExperience working in a regulated industry and/or Financial Services.\nStrong interpersonal skills, adept at building collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.\nAWS certifications (Preferred)\nThe salary range for this position is $195,000 -$295,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
