This position interacts with customers, engineers, field supervision and suppliers to plan work and resolve field issues. A Project Engineer will serve construction projects and is expected to be full time on the project site. This position is intended as a development role with a defined career path toward becoming a Project Manager.\nEssential Functions\nInteract with owners, engineers, and estimators to prepare, review, or validate project estimates, scopes of work, and contracts.\nReviews design drawings and 3D BIM Models for accuracy and completeness, and coordinates resolution of discrepancies and/or missing information with customers, design team, other trades, detailing, shop, & field as may be necessary.\nProvide oversight of field activities to ensure installations are accurately built to established contract documents and quality standards, on schedule, and within budgets.\nCoordinate construction activities with Owners, Engineers, or OEMs, including ongoing owner operations and other construction activities by others.\nOrganize detailing RFI process through formal RFI to customer and informal RFI’s with the engineer, architect, and general contractor. Facilitates and fulfills other documentation efforts and duties and as may be required.\nMonitor productivity and verify earned value for progress payments, updates, and contractor claims.\nDistribute and route drawings. Coordinate with Document Control to avoid delays and maintain logs.\nRecognize and initiate key steps in the Change Order Management process.\nUpdate project schedules and generate status reports.\nAct as front-line technical liaison for Owner and Engineers. \nProvide technical analysis and recommendation to GrayWolf front line supervision.\nEssential part of the Project Management Team in achieving successful project results.\nWork closely with Director of Project Management and Detailing Manager to assist with selection and training of incoming and current Project Engineers, Field Engineers and/or Trainee’s\nQualifications: \nBS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management with (4) or more years of multidisciplinary construction experience OR Minimum (7) years of similar construction experience in industrial environments such as pulp & paper, chemical, power, or heavy industrial, with background in scheduling and project controls. Experience in cost tracking, RFI, Take-Offs/Quantities, Estimating will be key in selecting the right candidate. \nNCCER Certifications preferred but not required\nOSHA 10/30 preferred but not required\nDesired Skills or Knowledge\nLogical and reasoned evaluation of field conditions and possible solutions.\nAbility to coordinate and facilitate work across a broad range of personnel, supervision, craft, engineers and project managers. Must be collaborative and able to openly engage with colleagues to achieve project goals.\nAbility to direct subcontractors and other 3rd party agents.\nMust be very well-organized and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\nMust be flexible with day-to-day duties and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.\nAble to translate technical concepts to broader audience. \nExperience in O365 - Sharepoint, Teams, Excel (experience with formulas, pivot tables, graphs, charts) is required.\nExperience in project management software is required such as Procore, InEight, P6/Primavera, CAD/BIM, Navisworks as example is required.\nPhysical/Site Requirements:\nLift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.\nMove in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.\nWork up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.\nClimb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.\nPPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
