Our EMPLOYEES are our greatest asset in meeting our mission to be an Oklahoma Agency of Excellence.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical (IC&E) Technician I is responsible for the maintenance and reliable operation of a large multi-unit thermal power generation facility. The responsibilities include without limitation, the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low- to medium-voltage electrical systems, industry specific instrumentation, and digital control systems (DCS). The technician is responsible for plant equipment that includes Ovation DCS, Allen Bradley PLC, Mitsubishi Netmation DCS, GE LCI drives and electrical equipment voltages up to 13,800 VAC. The GREC IC&E Technician II will strictly adhere to all GRDA safety and environmental policies and procedures\nEssential job functions include, but are not limited to:\nInstall, repairs, inspects, and maintains boiler and boiler auxiliaries, combustion and steam turbine/generator auxiliaries, also fuel supply equipment and auxiliaries, if applicable.\n\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on control systems and equipment with guidance.\n\nOperate, monitor, maintain and calibrate environmental and industrial hygiene equipment such as CEMS, noise and gas detection devices, etc. in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.\n\nDiagnose and resolve issues with electrical, instrumentation, and control systems specific to power generation facilities.\n\nObtain measurements and readings using electrical and mechanical testing instruments, including digital multi meters, meggers, amp meters, ohm meters, and phase rotation meters.\n\nSupport maintenance coordination efforts by assisting the supervisor and senior technicians with scheduling, materials identification, and basic repair planning; provide input and observations as requested.\n\nDraw and read electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or diagrams\n\nOperate fork-lifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, mobile and overhead cranes and fleet vehicles\n\nActively participates in Root Cause Investigations for Incidents/Accidents, Near Miss, Off Normal, and unusual events.\n\nWork collaboratively with other team members efficiently and demonstrate good verbal and communication skills\n\nWorks under the direction of experienced technicians.\n\nSupport callout, plant startup and shutdown activities, and emergency response activities by assisting experienced technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment restoration.\n\nDemonstrate ongoing development of craft skills through participation in progression programs and on-the-job training.\n\nSkills, Knowledge, Qualities:\nBasic knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and general understanding of plant systems\n\nAbility to follow and comply with safety policies and procedures\n\nWorking knowledge of power plant systems, including turbines, boilers, pumps, and control systems\n\nDeveloping technical skills in instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment\n\nFamiliarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)\n\nAbility to operate industrial equipment (forklifts, hand tools, and power tools) as trained\n\nDeveloping troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n\nLearns and develops craft skills\n\nGood communication and teamwork skills\n\nAbility to work both independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks with guidance as needed\n\nAbility to perform duties safely under supervision and seek guidance when necessary\n\nBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)\n\nAbility to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and basic electrical/control drawings\n\nAbility to work in a 24/7/365 environment and in extreme weather conditions\n\nEducation, Training, Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent required\n\nAccreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program required.\n\nOne year of industry experiencepreferred.\n\nCertificates, Registrations, Licenses:\nValid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.\n\nPhysical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:\nMust be able to walk, climb stairs, crawl, work from ladders and elevated platforms.\n\nMust not have a fear of heights, confined spaces, or working around high voltage equipment.\n\nAbility to lift, move, and carry weights of up to 50 lb. on an irregular basis.\n\nMust possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail.\n\nManual dexterity is required for operation of test equipment, small tools, and the installation, adjustment, and repair of control devices.\n\nMust be able to work in extreme weather conditions, summer and winter.\n\nMust be able to work odd hours and rotating shifts, where applicable.\n\nOther information:\nWork is performed at the Grand River Energy Center in Chouteau, Oklahoma.
