Our EMPLOYEES are our greatest asset in meeting our mission to be an Oklahoma Agency of Excellence.\nTechnician I - Operations\nPosition Overview\nThe Grand River Energy Center power plant is seeking a highly driven\nindividual to support the operations team. This position is an entry\nlevel position that will perform semi-skilled manual work while working\nunder the supervision of a high performing multi-unit power generation\nteam.\nEssential job functions include, but are not limited\nto:\nPromotes continual improvement, working to identify opportunities\nto improve safety and equipment reliability.\n\nOperates scrubbers, steam turbines, generators, plant auxiliary\nequipment and systems during normal and emergency operations.\n\nMonitor and inspect all plant equipment for normal\noperation.\n\nMaintain, compile and update plant operating logs and reports;\nperform and record mathematical calculations related to plant\noperational activities\n\nReport any abnormal or irregular conditions that develop during\nthe progress of the work and take corrective measures.\n\nProvide feedback/input on equipment conditions, potential failure\nrisks, corrections, and additions to job plans\n\nPerform daily, weekly, and monthly testing as required to\nmaintain compliance with governing agencies.\n\nOperate a variety of heavy equipment including, forklifts, boom\nlifts, etc.\n\nTrain for and carry out assignments in firefighting (incipient\nstage), first aid and other emergency response programs as\nrequired\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nSkills, Knowledge, Qualities:\nMust be able to work individually and as a team member.\n\nMust be able to handle multiple tasks.\n\nMust be able to communicate effectively.\n\nMust have strong process troubleshooting skills.\n\nMust be able to perform duties safely without direct\nsupervision\n\nAbility to effectively use Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word,\nExcel, Teams, etc.).\n\nEducation, Training, Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent required.\n\nPreference given to candidates having completed a two-year course\nof study in the technical field to which assigned at a recognized trade,\ntechnical or vocational school, or accredited college; or having a\nminimum of two (2) years of operations experience at a generation or\nlarge industrial facility.\n\nAdditional preference given for training and direct experience\nwith advanced class combustion turbines.\n\nCertificates, Registrations, Licenses:\nValid driver’s license\n\nMust obtain OSHA 30 certification within the first six (6) months of\nemployment.\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:\nProtective equipment must be worn in the performance of some\nduties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators,\narc flash rated clothing etc.).\n\nWork outside in all types of weather conditions.\n\nMay be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty\n(30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.\n\nMust possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to\nvisual and auditory detail.
