The time has never been better to Embrace Your Great and work in an environment with the highest safety standards in the industry.\nThe Position: An Materials Coordinator coordinates material flow in the plant by verifying materials inventory balances at POU (point of use), stage, & warehouse locations are sufficient to meet material planning targets. Facilitates inventory move prioritization with forklift drivers to support material targets at all locations of the plant. Data input of part numbers and data research skills to find and update status of parts in JDE, RFGen, and other plant Supply Chain planning tools. Able to read blueprints and production schedules. Able to drive a forklift to move bundles & crates around for ease of staging. Communicates material shortages immediately to cross-functional team. Facilitates the NCM process daily.\nResponsibilities\nWhat You’ll Do:\nInvestigates issues with material and inventory variances. Recommends possible solutions, resolutions, etc.\n\nPosts and maintains material planning & NCM files.\n\nPrioritizes inventory moves to effectively support uninterrupted production.\n\nIdentify locations where material should be placed by forklift driver.\n\nPerform 5S in areas of responsibility.\n\nReturn to stock material that is no longer needed.\n\nPrepare information about what material is needed where and when and at what quantity.\n\nCoordinate delivery of material with forklift drivers.\n\nAssist Cycle Counters in counting lineside material.\n\nFacilitate and coordinate NCM process for respective areas.\n\nQualifications\nYour Skills & Abilities (QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS):\nEducation: GED or high school diploma is preferred.\n\nExperience: Prior experience in heavy assembly work is preferred.\n\nMust be able to perform work with little supervision.\n\nMay be asked to assist in the training of new employees.\n\nForklift certification required.\n\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure - whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.\n\nMust possess computer/data entry skills.\n\nAbility to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools.\n\nAbility to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instruction.\n\nAptitude to learn and retain new information.\n\nAbility to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing.\n\nAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.\n\nAbility to communicate effectively in English.\n\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\nPlant environment.\n\nKeyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.\n\nAbility to do heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) multiple times daily in an 8 to 12 hour shift.\n\nAbility to maneuver large parts and assemblies (up to 180 pounds) by pushing, pulling and flipping them into place.\n\nAbility to work in a constant state of alertness.\n\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nABOUT GREAT DANE\nWith a history dating back to 1900, Great Dane has established itself as a transportation solutions leader of today - delivering innovative products and exceptional services that help our customers and employees succeed.
