As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in championing the quality and reliability of our software by building and maintaining robust automated testing solutions and integrating them into our development process.\nAs a cornerstone part of a cross-functional, agile delivery team you will serve as the champion of quality with full understanding that all members of the team will take their cues from the examples you set. In this role, you will be uniquely situated to define what “good” looks like and hold us all responsible to get across that line.\nLocation\nThis position will work from our Boston, MA office. Great Gray currently supports a hybrid work model with 4 days onsite, and 1 day remote.\nVisa sponsorship or transfer of an existing visa is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define clear testing objectives, user stories, and acceptance criteria.\nDesign and architect new automated test suites, and right-sizing solutions to match business needs.\nSeamlessly integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and deployment outcomes.\nCurate an organized testing strategy to ensure a high-reliability development and deployment environment to support our engineers.\nTriage and troubleshoot bugs, continuously refining testing strategies to enhance defect detection.\nPerform various forms of functional and non-functional testing, including performance, load, and security testing.\nExecute manual testing where necessary to complement automated coverage and validate edge cases.\nOperate as the business expert in a fast-paced, cross-functional scrum team.\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree and 5+ years of testing and automation experience, responsible for test design and development.\nProficiency with Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright for UI automation.\nExperience with REST/Web API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or JMeter.\nKnowledge of performance and load testing methodologies and techniques.\nBasic understanding of relational database testing (SQL Server) and ability to write SQL queries and manipulate datasets.\nWorking knowledge of cloud-hosted web applications and CI/CD integration.\nYour standards reflect our core values: Growth Mindset, Disciplined Curiosity, Grit, Results Ownership, Collaboration.\nPreferred Qualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree and 7+ years of testing and automation experience.\nExperience building from-scratch test suites and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.\nExtensive experience with cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.\nFintech experience, including knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory procedures and processes.\nExperience with both Azure and AWS.\nProficiency in React, Angular, and C# based platforms.\nExperience with SQL automation and Test data management.\nExperience working with containers for test isolation (Docker).\nAble to thrive as part of a cross-functional software engineering team (including nearshore and offshore components).\nComfortable navigating ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.\nEntrepreneurial mindset to bring best practice ideas to the team.\nTech Stack\nOur current tech stack is a blend of existing and next-gen tools/languages, and like our company itself, our software is always evolving.\nFrontend: Angular, React\nBackend: C# .NET\nData Layer: MSSQL, Python, Postgres, Databricks\nInfrastructure: Azure cloud\nTooling: Cypress, Docker, GitHub, Cursor, SonarQube\nBase Pay Range*\n$120,000-$160,000\n*This base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.\nThe pay range displayed above is the base pay compensation range that Great Gray expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range, or that may warrant a provision for pay beyond this range, depends on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, candidate’s prior education and relevant work experience and training as well as position location and local market demands.
