The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to produce high-quality pastries and desserts. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, following recipes to the letter, and ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.\nResponsibilities\nPrepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, breads, and desserts following standardized recipes and quality guidelines.\nEnsure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all baked goods.\nMeet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.\nOrganize prep work efficiently to ensure a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment.\nWork closely with the pastry chef and kitchen team to coordinate production and ensure smooth daily operations.\nCommunicate effectively with team members regarding orders, schedules, and special requests.\nOperate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and pastry tools.\nFollow proper usage and safety procedures for all baking equipment.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.\nFollow all food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.\nMonitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages to the pastry chef or supervisor.\nAssist in receiving and properly storing deliveries to maintain freshness FIFO.\nQualifications\nAt least 2 years of kitchen experience in pastry\nAbility to assemble and decorate cakes, tarts, truffles, cookies, etc.\nAbility to provide quality service in pastry production in accordance with guided specifications while paying detailed attention to color, taste, texture, portion size and overall appearance \nAbility to maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.\nMust have good organizational skills and ability to multitask. \nAbility to lift 50lbs and stand for at least 8 hours \nLocation: Bruckner Building, 2417 3rd Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451\nRate: $18.00-21.00/hour\nBenefits: PTO, 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Transit, and FSA (Flexible Spending Account)\nMust be able to provide valid documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the United States.\nGreat Performances is an equal opportunity employer.
