We have also recently become a bank!\nWe Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Technology Team!\nThe Platform Engineer is an entry-level engineering role responsible for learning and supporting the platforms, tools, and technologies that enable GreatAmerica's business and technology operations. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, this role contributes to platform maintenance, monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities while building foundational technical, operational, and business knowledge.\nAs a Platform Engineer, you will:\nAssist in the implementation, maintenance, and support of platform capabilities under guidance.\nSupport platform lifecycle activities including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, patching, and monitoring.\nAssist with automation and continuous improvement initiatives to improve platform reliability, scalability, and efficiency.\nMonitor platform health and follow established procedures to identify, troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate issues.\nSupport incident, problem, and change management processes.\nFollow established security, compliance, and operational controls.\nDocument work activities, processes, configurations, and solutions using established standards.\nCollaborate with engineers, technology teams, vendors, and business partners to support platform-related initiatives.\nBuild understanding of how platform services support business operations and technology outcomes.\nLearn to identify and escalate issues originating from upstream systems, vendors, integrations, or dependencies.\nTo be successful in this role you will need:\nPreferred skills:\nExposure to a major cloud platform (Azure/AWS/GCP)\nFamiliarity with CI/CD concepts and IT service management practices (Jira/ServiceNow)\nFamiliarity with source control tools (GitHub/Bitbucket/Azure DevOps) and basic Git workflows\nExposure to infrastructure-as-code concepts (Terraform)\nFamiliarity with JSON/YAML for configuration and templating\nExposure to containerization (Docker); familiarity with Kubernetes concepts (Pods, Deployments) a plus\nExposure to Linux fundamentals (command line, file systems, basic administration)\nExposure to basic scripting (Bash/Python) for everyday automation tasks\nBasic programming or scripting ability (.NET/Java/JavaScript/TypeScript)\nExposure to networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP/S, load balancing, basic firewall/security group concepts)\nBasic awareness of how monitoring and alerting can surface failures originating outside the platform being monitored\nInterest in financial services, banking, or regulated-industry technology\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience\n0-3 years of relevant experience\nSharing rewards is an integral part of our culture.
