If you want to join an industry-leading company that focuses on your professional growth and development, we’d love to hear from you!\n\nThe Tooling Engineer will be responsible for developing tooling from order to delivery, working with the Tooling - Engineering Manager, Quality, and Operations team. Delivery of successful tooling to achieve high first-pass yield.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, simulate, sample, and maintain foundry tooling (patterns, core boxes, and fixtures/gages) to meet all customer requirements utilizing customer-supplied part geometry and specifications.\nKnowledge of foundry processes, including green sand molding and a basic understanding of ductile iron metallurgy.\nAdvanced knowledge of GD&T\nUnderstanding and basic use of CAD\nWork with outside tooling vendors, including quoting, project management, and inspection of received tooling\nDesign and create drawings for CNC machine fixtures for various machining cells \nReading and understanding customer blueprints\nAssist with CMM fixturing for inspection\nAbility to generate CMM inspection programs (Calypso & PCDMIS)\nAssist with the layout/measurement of tooling and parts using CMM and 3D scanner\nDevelop in-process gauging for production\nUnderstand and conduct GR&R\nWilling to work “hands-on” when needed to assist foundry sampling programs\nOther duties as assigned by Management \n\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)\nSolidWorks or similar CAD experience required \nMust be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.\nAble to work flexible hours as needed \nAbility to work in extreme heat \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field \nFoundry Experience a Plus \nWorking knowledge of APQP and PPAP for automotive desired \nMinimum 2 years of experience with CNC machining or related field. \n\nGrede is proud to support transitioning service members and current military veterans with career opportunities that are a match for their skills gained while serving our country.
