On-site expectations may evolve over time to support business needs, with clear communication provided in advance.\n\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nLocation Requirement\nThis position is open only to candidates who currently reside in one of the following approved locations:\n West Los Angeles, CA\nGreen Dot Corporation is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Information Security (InfoSec) This role will focus on vulnerability management, threat detection, and remediation efforts, contributing to the protection of Green Dot’s infrastructure, applications, and data assets.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across cloud and on-prem environments.\nAdminister and optimize security tools including scanners, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection systems.\nCollaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Application teams to remediate identified risks.\nMonitor threat intelligence feeds and triage alerts based on severity and business impact.\nDevelop and maintain security documentation, including runbooks, policies, and risk reports.\nSupport incident response activities and forensic investigations.\nParticipate in security architecture reviews and provide recommendations for secure design.\nTrack and report vulnerability metrics to technical teams and senior leadership.\n Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.\n3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security engineering.\nProficiency with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).\nExperience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) and EDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, Carbon Black).\nStrong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.\nFamiliarity with cloud security (AWS preferred), including IAM, VPC, and security groups.\nKnowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and analysis.\nUnderstanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2, NIST).\n**Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship**\n**Ability to meet the location requirement outlined above**\nPOSITION TYPE\nRegularPAY RANGE\nThe targeted base salary for this position is $104,900 to $157,300 per year.
