Sr Manager, Aircraft Completions

Summary

The Sr Manager, Aircraft Completions (SrMAC) is the senior on-site operational leader assigned to an aircraft program and is accountable for aircraft execution from induction through Return to Service, customer acceptance, and delivery.

The SrMAC leads the cross-functional aircraft team, integrating Maintenance, Avionics, Interiors, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain Management, and other supporting organizations to achieve established schedule, quality, cost, and customer commitments. The AODM has operational authority to establish and communicate aircraft execution priorities and coordinate the supporting organizations necessary to achieve established aircraft objectives but does not replace the responsibilities of Program Management, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Functional Leadership.

The SrMAC serves as the primary day-to-day operational interface with customer representatives located at the Moses Lake facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead assigned aircraft programs from induction through delivery, including the daily aircraft operating rhythm and cross-functional execution team.
• Establish and communicate aircraft priorities, milestones, execution objectives, and near-term recovery requirements.
• Develop and maintain the integrated aircraft execution plan in coordination with Planning and the supporting functional organizations.
• Maintain clear visibility of aircraft status, critical path, task completion, constraints, risks, and emerging issues; ensure actions are assigned, tracked, and completed.
• Drive schedule adherence and lead recovery actions when aircraft performance deviates from established milestones or delivery commitments.
• Coordinate Maintenance, Avionics, Interiors, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain Management, contractors, consultants, and other supporting organizations around aircraft priorities.
• Review applicable production schedules, engineering drawings, installation instructions, material information, and related technical data as necessary to understand execution requirements and resolve installation issues.
• Drive resolution of material, engineering, quality, tooling, resource, technical, and other execution constraints; escalate unresolved issues when they threaten schedule, cost, quality, customer commitments, or delivery.
• Balance and prioritize competing aircraft requirements across supporting organizations consistent with established site priorities.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day operational interface with the on-site customer and maintain clear communication regarding status, schedule performance, constraints, risks, and recovery actions.
• Lead or support recurring customer status meetings, milestone reviews, aircraft inspections, acceptance activities, and final delivery.
• Maintain awareness of contract and scope requirements affecting aircraft execution and provide operational input for change orders, proposals, and over-and-above activity as required.
• Coordinate aircraft testing, closeout activities, documentation readiness, customer acceptance, and delivery requirements.
• Lead operational readiness for Return to Service while maintaining Quality's independent regulatory, inspection, airworthiness, and Return to Service authority.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence on the aircraft and with the execution team and promote a safe, compliant, accountable, and professional work environment.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Bachelor's degree and significant related aviation experience preferred; an equivalent combination of education, technical experience, and leadership experience may be considered.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company, foreign government, foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive” position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be requiredbased on specific circumstances. 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated leadership experience in aircraft maintenance, modification, completions, manufacturing, or a comparable aviation environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex aircraft programs, major aviation projects, or cross-functional aircraft execution teams.
• Strong understanding of aircraft planning, scheduling, resource management, modification/installation activity, testing, closeout, and delivery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, installation instructions, technical procedures, and other aircraft maintenance or modification data.
• Strong customer communication, relationship-management, decision-making, problem-solving, risk-management, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 maintenance operations and associated regulatory requirements preferred.
• Large commercial, VIP, or transport-category aircraft experience preferred.
• Airframe & Powerplant certificate desirable
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Ability to work outside of core business hours as required as This position requiring a high degree of schedule flexibility based upon aircraft requirements, customer commitments, critical milestones, and operational conditions.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $133,000.00 - $183,000.00. Actual compensation will be determinedbased on experience, education, location, and other factors permittedby law.
