This opportunity is exclusively for independent freelancers / self-employed security professionals. We are looking to work directly with the individual performing the work and do not accept applications or proposals from agencies, consultancies, staffing companies, or other intermediaries.Your mission
As a Freelance Security Researcher, you will work independently on technically challenging security research and development tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching and developing code for complex, security-related objectives.
- Independently analyzing vulnerabilities and building systems for their automated detection.
- Designing and implementing technologies for future vulnerability analysis and the detection of new attack vectors.
- Re-implementing publicly available exploits in alternative programming languages.
- Developing detection and testing methods using techniques such as banner grabbing, authenticated protocols, and targeted product testing.
- Working confidently with a diverse range of security tools, operating systems, Git, and network protocols.
What you offer
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity, gained through several years of hands-on experience across different roles, projects, or research activities.
- Strong coding skills-whether in scripting or compiled languages-with software development being a central part of your daily work.
- A genuine passion for coding, security research, vulnerability analysis, and staying ahead of emerging threats and attack techniques.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
- Motivation to shape and improve software, tooling, and processes for vulnerability detection and automation.
- An independent, structured, and proactive working style, including the ability to quickly understand, work with, and improve existing codebases.
