This is predominantly a lone-working role, so the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working independently, using their own initiative and managing their workload effectively.\nThe role will involve supporting the preparation and production of food, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, and ensuring that all food is prepared and handled in accordance with health, safety and hygiene requirements.\nPrevious kitchen or catering experience is preferred but not essential, as full training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate.\n Key Responsibilities\nPreparing food and assisting with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.\nFollowing recipes, menus, written instructions and verbal instructions accurately.\nPreparing ingredients and ensuring food is prepared to the required standard.\nMaintaining a clean, tidy and organised kitchen and food preparation areas.\nEnsuring all food is stored, prepared and handled safely.\nFollowing all food hygiene, health and safety and workplace procedures at all times.\nMaintaining high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.\nChecking stock and reporting any shortages or issues when required.\nUsing kitchen equipment safely and correctly.\nCleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, surfaces and other areas as required.\nWorking independently and managing tasks effectively without constant supervision.\nTaking initiative and identifying tasks that need to be completed.\nReporting any concerns, accidents, incidents, equipment faults or food safety issues promptly.\nWorking as part of a team when required and communicating effectively with colleagues.\nCarrying out any other reasonable duties associated with the role.\nEssential Skills & Attributes\nThe successful candidate will demonstrate:\nHonesty and integrity in all aspects of their work.\nReliability and a strong work ethic.\nExcellent punctuality and timekeeping.\nThe ability to work independently, as this is primarily a lone-working position.\nThe ability to take initiative and work proactively without constant supervision.\nThe ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.\nA willingness to learn and develop new kitchen and food preparation skills.\nA responsible approach to health, safety and food hygiene.\nGood organisational skills and attention to detail.\nA positive and professional attitude.\nThe ability to remain calm and work efficiently when there are multiple tasks to complete.\nExperience\nPrevious experience in a kitchen, catering, hospitality or food preparation environment is preferred but not essential.\nTraining can be provided for the right candidate.
