Our efficient products improve comfort, safety, and health of lives across the planet.\nSince 1947, we are deeply committed to helping you “Build Your Future,” through professional growth, challenging projects, and exciting opportunities to explore your career path.\nWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING\nSupport the design and development of packaging solutions, including crates, skids, corrugated materials, and foam components, considering product protection, manufacturability, material usage, and transportation efficiency.\nCreate and update packaging drawings, specifications, and documentation. \nBuild, coordinate, and evaluate prototypes and packaging testing with suppliers, including testing to applicable industry standards such as ISTA.\nResearch packaging materials, industry trends, and emerging solutions to identify opportunities for improved cost, performance, and sustainability.\nAnalyze freight damage and claims data to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities. \nHelp standardize packaging designs and components across product lines to simplify operations and reduce material usage. \nIdentify opportunities to improve packaging cost, sustainability, pack-out time, and manufacturability. \nSupport production teams by troubleshooting packaging issues and recommending design improvements. \nExplore returnable and reusable packaging solutions through cost, logistics, and feasibility analysis. \nUse approved AI and automation tools to improve packaging analysis, documentation, design workflows, and decision-making. \nCollaborate with Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Logistics, Quality, Purchasing, and external suppliers to support packaging projects and communicate results.\nWHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE\nEnrollment in a related bachelor’s degree program (Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Science or similar degree with technical aptitude).\nOn track to graduate in the next 3 semesters.\nInterest in hands-on learning and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.\nExperience with basic hand tools and comfort working with physical prototypes.\nProficiency in Excel and working with data.\nExperience with 3D modeling software is a plus.\nCoursework or experience with packaging materials, design, or testing methods such as ISTA or ASTM is a plus.\nExperience using AI tools in coursework or projects is a plus.\nCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS\nGreenheck Group takes pride in providing competitive pay. The starting base pay range for this position is $22.00/hour - $28.00/hour and is based on position and academic year.\nIn addition to competitive pay, co-ops receive paid time off for company-observed holidays and are eligible for additional financial support through a housing allowance or sign-on bonus.\nSPECIAL NOTATION\nThe preceding statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people in this position.
