This position is expected to work out of our office at 675 Los Esteros Rd. in San Jose and limited job-related travel may be required.\nPositionSummary:\n\nGreenWasteis seeking to fill the position of Equipment Maintenance Technician to provide support to one or more facilities. This role’s main function is to maintain processing equipment to ensure it is running optimally with minimal down time.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities:\n\nAbility to remove equipment guards safely and clean inside them\nAbility to clean all idlers\nMaintain all chutes clean of debris\nAbility to use compressed air to keep all equipment clean from dust and debris \nEnsure to maintain all MRF floors clean\nProperly follow company and OSHA safety procedures to ensure safety\nAbility to work in close quarter areas around pedestrians and other heavy equipment \nAbility to follow directions, daily procedures, and protocols\nAbility to adapt to constantly changing conditions, effectively stay on task\nInsure the proper maintenance of equipment and tools and the overall cleanliness and proper functioning of the area, tools, and the machinery after use\nPerform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety \n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nAbility to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time\nThe ability to work as a team and work well with others\nAbility to understand and carry out written and oral instructions\nThe work habits to have are reliable transportation, being punctual, and reliable I order to minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations \nQualifications:\n2+ years of mechanical experience\nHigh school diploma or GED\nValid Driver license \nLanguage Skill:\nProficiency in English and/or Spanish \nPhysical Demands:\nRequires the ability to handle material weighing 60 lbs.\nRequires constant pulling, pushing, reaching, bending and grasping\nRequires going up and down stairs to reach certain equipment locations \nThe employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, climb, balance, reach, stoop, or kneel\nWork Environment: \nRequires working in a fast-paced work environment where there is exposure to loud noises, heat, cold, sharp objects, odors and around gases from welding equipment (OSHA approved respirator protections provided). \nRequires the use of a hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, safety vest, dust mask, respirator, hearing protection, harness, and gloves at all time\nWork shifts vary, regular workdays may be anywhere from 4-12 hours depending on daily tonnage\nWorking overtime is required. Working overtime on the weekends and on certain holidays is required\nAbility to work flexible hours\nThe employee regularly works in outside weather conditions \nThe employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and sometimes exposed to wet and or humid conditions and the noise level in the work environment is usually loud\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nThe typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
