Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Implementation Engineer to join our technology team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Python, SQL, Linux/Unix environments, and UAT/SIT, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex application and integration issues. This role is suited for professionals who enjoy working close to technology, customers/stakeholders, application deployments, system integrations, data investigation, and production troubleshooting. Candidates with up to 9 years of experience may also be considered based on the strength and relevance of their experience.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, configure, integrate, and support software solutions across customer/application environments.
• Work closely with engineering, QA, product, and business teams during implementation and deployment activities.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, troubleshooting, log analysis, health checks, and operational activities.
• Investigate application and transaction issues using SQL and database queries.
• Perform system-level troubleshooting in Linux/Unix environments.
• Participate in and support SIT/UAT activities, including test execution, issue investigation, validation, and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot REST API and system integration issues using tools such as Postman and cURL.
• Analyse application logs and trace issues across different services and integrations.
• Support production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Work with upstream/downstream systems and understand data flows between integrated applications.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve implementation and integration issues.
• Create technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and implementation-related documentation.

The core requirements for the job include the following:

Python - Automation and Scripting:

• Strong practical knowledge of Python scripting.
• Ability to develop clean and modular scripts.
• Experience with log parsing, automation, health checks, and troubleshooting utilities.
• Good understanding of exception handling and reusable functions/modules.
• Ability to automate repetitive operational and implementation activities.

SQL and Database Investigation:

• Strong hands-on SQL experience.
• Good understanding of: SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, Joins, Aggregations, Subqueries, Window functions
• Ability to investigate transaction/data issues using SQL.
• Experience identifying data inconsistencies or corruption through database investigation.
• Understanding of query performance and execution plans is an advantage.

Linux / Unix:

• Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
• Comfortable with command-line troubleshooting and system investigation.
• Hands-on experience with commands such as: cd, ls, cat, grep, awk, sed, tail, head.
• Understanding of process management and basic network troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform live log analysis and troubleshoot application issues on Linux servers.

UAT / SIT:

• Hands-on experience working with System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience coordinating test scenarios, validating application behaviour, and troubleshooting defects.
• Ability to work with QA, business, product, and technical teams during testing cycles.
• Experience supporting deployment and production-readiness activities.

REST APIs and System Integration:

• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Postman and/or cURL.
• Understanding of HTTP status codes such as 200 400 404 and 500
• Experience working with JSON payloads.
• Ability to troubleshoot API and integration failures.
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2/token-based authentication is preferred.
• Experience tracing data flows across multiple services or integrated systems is an advantage.
• Exposure to asynchronous events, webhooks, or microservice integrations will be beneficial.

Desired Experience:
