To learn more, visit www.greystar.com.\nJOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY\nThe Development Accountant will be responsible for all accounting duties for their project portfolio. The position will be part of a regionally focused accounting team, collaborating to achieve department and company-wide goals. This position should have the ability to work individually and, in a team setting.JOB DESCRIPTION\n Financial Accounting - Applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to compile and analyze financial information into various financial statements and accounting reports. Makes appropriate journal entries in the general ledger by checking calculations, reviewing basis for figures, and balancing and reconciling figures.\nCost Accounting & Budget Management - Maintains development and construction budgets for all aspects of the project life cycle. Completes various forecasting and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of job cost reports. Assists development and construction directors to effectively manage project budgets.\nProject Abstracts - Develops a general understanding of the underlying agreements and investment materials for assigned projects. Works to become familiar with the specific sections that are relevant to better understand the overall structure, including commitments, cost classifications, JV and lender requirements, and project fees.\nCustomer Relationships - Establish and maintains professional communication with all internal and external project stakeholders. Ensures customer satisfaction by responding to various requests from external investors, lenders, and others related to financial reports, project and construction draws.\nCash Management - Accurately and timely manages all assigned cash accounts. Performs monthly bank reconciliations, wire transfers, deposits, and other payment processes to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner. Effectively works with development and construction teams to accurately forecast cash needs.\nCollaboration - Establishes and maintains professional communication with all internal and external project stakeholders. Develops good working relationships with other departments including but not limited to; Accounts Payable, Finance, Asset Management, Property Management, Development and Construction.\nAnnual Audits - Acts as liaison to internal and external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions. Provides research data and information as requested and answering questions necessary to complete the audit in a timely manner.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting\n1 - 2+ years of professional accounting experience; construction or real estate development experience preferred\nProficient in Microsoft Excel\nStrong attention to detail with creative problem-solving skills\nExcellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with the ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships across internal and external stakeholders\nDemonstrated ability to think critically and work independently, exercising sound judgment to drive tasks forward with minimal oversight\nThe base salary for this position is $70,000 - $78,000.\nAdditional Compensation:\nMany factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including business requirements, prior experience, current skills and geographical location.\nCorporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.\nOnsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs.\nRobust Benefits Offered*:\nCompetitive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability & Life insurance benefits.
