We strive to build long-term relationships with safety-focused customers who expect industry-leading service and performance.\nJob Summary: An experienced technician who performs Quality Audits on completed Locating Tickets and responsible for a variety of tasks related to utility protection for a variety of utility clients. The Watch and Protect technician will be responsible for overseeing contractors digging on and around utility facilities, and monitoring excavation to help prevent damage from being done to critical facilities.\nPerform Quality Audits •On-site audits of completed work should include Inspection of locate marks and marking standards for accuracy. o E-Sketch documentation o Billing and status codes used. o Screen capture and photo documentation review o Scope of the tickets work area completed. Be sure to focus on accuracy and marking standards while performing the audit. •Any serious concerns found during audits should be communicated to the supervisor immediately and addressed while onsite.\nWatch & Protect •Compares real world conditions to the record documentation to identify errors and omissions •Verifies location of all client facilities within specified dig extents •Watches and protects client facilities within a given area as directed by the client •Understands contractor’s means and methods for subsurface installations •Responsible for monitoring and providing surveillance of critical infrastructure where excavations are known to be taking place or will be taking place soon •Contacting excavators and scheduling with them to monitor critical excavation •Monitoring excavations near critical infrastructure to prevent damage from being done to client facilities •Locates and marks underground facilities using various industry tools, standards and methods including the use of various locating devices and utility maps •Performs ticket audits to ensure locators are accurately locating facilities and following proper marking procedures\n***In order to obtain employment with GridHawk LLC, candidates MUST complete a background check.\nCompany policy requires no violations within the last 5 years.\nCandidates MUST also take and pass a DOT drug test.*** All employees of GridHawk LLC, are assigned proper technology and work vehicles in order to perform all work-related duties.\nWe will provide you the tools you need to achieve including:\nCompany vehicle, laptop and smartphone\nUniforms and all personal protective equipment provided\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED certificate\nValid driver’s license\n2 years of experience in the locating industry Essential skills and experience:\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\nAbility to read and interrupt prints at a high level.\nMultiple years locating and pipeline technician experience.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work smoothly with citizens, company, contractor representatives, and customers\nGood organizational skills to be able to handle many varied tasks at once\nKnowledge and understanding of safe worksite practices\nExperience with the construction and installation of below grade infrastructure and basic maintenance of industry standard locating equipment\nWorking within and utilizing existing utility standard designs\nExperience with complex urban underground utility infrastructure and serving as firm/client liaison\nReviewing design drawings created by others\nPhysical Requirements:\nCapable of moving about on construction work sites, public streets and parkways\nCapable of lifting up to 50/75lbs\nAbility to stand, walk, kneel or sit for extended periods\nHand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various measurement, locating and testing instruments\nReasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.\nWork Environment:\nWork safely outside in all weather conditions year-round\nOccasionally work in excavations areas and roadways\nOccasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration\nThe noise level in the work environment is occasionally moderate to loud\nJob Type: Full-time\nHourly\n***Pay varies based on experience***\nBenefits: All employees are eligible to receive some form of company benefits.
