At most retail energy providers, legacy systems and process ownership are locked in, and there's limited room to change how things work. At Gridmatic, we're not looking to just do things better - we want to do them differently.\nMust have - top priority\nDialer file automation: Automate producing and delivering call center dialer files for outbound campaigns.Automation / systems integration\n\nAudit & alerting: Build audits and exception reporting for key processes, with live alerts via Slack and Grafana.Data quality / observability\n\nBill run audit: Automate bill validation to catch errors before they reach customers.Data validation / QA automation\n\nShould have - important, less urgent\nOperations work queue: Automate pulling and working market transactions (enrollments, rejects, drops). Long-term: a queue-based tool for the ops team.ETL / automation, light app development\n\nEDI archiving: Archive EDI files from our billing vendor's SFTP before they age off after 6 months.Data pipeline / storage\n\nNice to have\nComplex billing automation: Automate the manual Excel-based billing process for flexible-load customers.ETL / automation\n\nCommissions forecasting & exposure: Build pipelines against our commissions vendor's API for leadership forecast and exposure reports.Data pipeline / reporting\n\nBilling component data load: Automate manual loading of billing components into the system.ETL / automation\n\nAccounting close automation: Automate month-end close processes for the accounting team.ETL / automation\n\nCompliance reporting automation: Automate data pulls for compliance reporting.Data pipeline / automation\n\nBeyond the project list\nNew market entry: Stand up operations and technical processes for each new market launch.Process design\n\nProduct development: Build data/billing infrastructure for large or flexible-load customer products outside our standard system.Systems integration\n\nEngineering liaison & data modeling: Translate operations needs into engineering requirements; help shape how our pricing/contracting system models productsand customers.Data modeling / architecture\n\nSystem support: Support third party platforms and assist with any migrations.Vendor evaluation / systems strategy\n\nWhat we're looking for\nStrong SQL skills and experience building queries and reports against production data.\nExperience automating manual or error-prone business processes (ETL, scripting, workflow tooling).\nComfort working with monitoring/alerting tools (e.g., Grafana, Slack integrations) or similar.\nAbility to translate business or operational requirements into technical specs and work with engineers to implement\nthem.\nExperience in retail energy, billing systems, or another regulated/transactional industry is a plus.\nComfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities - we're a startup, and this role will help shape its own scope.\nWhy this role\nYou'll have direct, visible impact on the accuracy and scale of our operations, with the autonomy to identify problems and\nbuild the solution end to end.
