The shift to renewables, the proliferation of rooftop solar, batteries and EVs, and the increasing complexity of distribution networks are forcing utilities to operate their grids in fundamentally new ways. Gridsight's vertical SaaS platform uses data, ML and AI to help grid operators modernise their operations and unlock transformational new capabilities. We deliver visibility into the grid edge, faster renewable connections, and real-time orchestration of distributed energy. The opportunity is enormous ($1B+ ARR).\nWe're embedded with over 50% of Australia's distribution networks, more than 30% in New Zealand, and have 1 of the top 5 utilities in the US as our lighthouse customer. We grew ARR 3.4x in the past 6 months, we just closed our Series B led by Insight Partners, and we're on the path to build a truly generational utility software company.\nWe are a team of builders. What unites us is that we’re curious, hungry and obsessed with maximizing the impact we can deliver to Gridsight and the energy transition. If that sounds like you, come join us!\nAbout the role\nEntering into a multi-year technology partnership is a major buying decision for utility executives. These are significant investments, usually with CEO and Board oversight.\nGridsight’s implementation creates the first impression, validates their investment, and sets the tone for the rest of our relationship. Smooth, successful implementations are increasingly a point of difference for Gridsight and we’ve become renowned for delivering enterprise software on-time, on-budget and with no surprises. These high standards also drive commercial opportunities for expansion and other sales, giving executives confidence to accelerate and deepen their relationship with us, and refer us to their peers.\nAs an Engagement Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring each implementation is smooth and successful. You will own and coordinate the process from when a customer signs, to the day they go live, through into business as usual. We expect to be running 2-4 implementations at any one time, all on different tracks. A key measure of success in the role will be reducing the time from signature to value realization for each customer and scaling from pilots to full-scale subscriptions.\nYou will blend commercial acumen, technical depth and project management expertise to devise and deliver each plan, including the resourcing, dependencies and risks, all while building the stakeholder relationships with customers’ project team and executives.\nAcross each implementation you will coordinate a dedicated cross-functional team of Gridsight’s SMEs, including Sales, Power Engineering, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product. You’ll also be the fulcrum between Gridsight and the customer - liaising with their project lead and engaging the SMEs on their side. Your ability to represent the Gridsight product and tech stack will build trust with customers and protect our Product squads from constant disruption.\nThis is both an ownership and a coordination role. Utility implementations are complex, with diverse stakeholders on both sides, and multiple work streams running parallel. We have a playbook, but each customer and each implementation is different. You will be the person who keeps the big picture front-of-mind, solves for the strategic outcome, and is able to see around corners, mitigate, adapt and problem solve when things wobble.\nThis role reports to the Head of North America.\nWhat you will own\nSuccess of each implementation\nManage multiple complex implementations concurrently. \nOwn the end-to-end delivery plan for each customer, including scope, milestones, dependencies, resourcing, customer responsibilities and critical path.\nIdentify and understand what truly matters for a customer, and ensure we deliver. \nMaintain a live view of status, forecast go-live and risk across your projects, and communicate effectively internally and to customers\nManage change when scope, data or timelines move, re-plan, re-baseline and get the decision made.\nCoordination across Gridsight\nManage a cross-functional team of resources, coordinating Sales, Customer Data, Product, and Engineering.\nThoughtfully engage SMEs at the right time with a clear ask, clear inputs and a clear definition of done.\nSequence work across teams so the critical path is protected and specialists are not blocked waiting on each other or on the customer.\nMake ownership explicit where it is ambiguous, and resolve it rather than letting it sit.\nEscalate early, with a recommendation.\nThe customer relationship through delivery\nAct as the face of Gridsight to the customer and primary point of contact throughout delivery: steering committees, working groups, and executive stakeholder updates to share progress and value. You should be a trusted, safe pair of hands in the eyes of our customer. \nSet and manage expectations honestly: establish and communicate a clear plan with specificity, asks and deadlines; and foresee and surface potential problems.\nDrive the customer side: engage proactively across formal and informal channels to help avoid the pitfalls. This means unblocking their internal approvals, managing their stakeholders and holding them to their commitments, without damaging the relationship.\nBuild and improve on the process\nFeed every lesson back into subsequent implementations, so we are faster and smoother next time - with improved templates, tooling, processes and communications.\nIdentify the recurring friction that should become product, tooling or automation, and make the case for it with evidence from real projects.\nUtilize existing methodology, playbooks and standards and push to improve them where they exist, build them where they don’t.\nWhat you'll bring\nProven experience running multiple, 7-figure enterprise-grade projects, implementations or integrations end to end with accountability for the outcome.\nExperience coordinating a team of resources across functions, teams and time zones. \nAbility to prioritize, juggle and execute at pace - ruthlessly prioritizing what really matters. \nThoughtful, structured relationship management skills that build rapport with customers from ICs to senior executives, paired with the emotional intelligence to hold them to their commitments and have difficult conversations. \nTechnical fluency to learn, understand and represent our platform and stack, and offer credible guidance on data, integrations and system architecture. \nProven ability to excel in ambiguity, within a fast-growing company where we are always building and refining the processes live. \nBonus points for energy, utilities or grid domain experience; exposure to utility data platforms; enterprise software implementations and experience in a scaling startup.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary. We hold high expectations and pay accordingly.\nMeaningful equity, so you share in the growth of Gridsight.\nHybrid work environment from our offices in San Francisco, CA and Austin, Texas, plus annual retreats to the Australian mothership. \nGenerous PTO and parental leave, $2,500 home office allowance, $2,500 health and wellness allowance, and lunch on us when you’re in the office.","description_format":"text","description_chars":7289,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Home office","Hybrid work","Parental leave"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Simulation & Digital Twin Software","Power Grid","Smart Grid","Energy AI"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-09T09:52:20Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 5","filings_12m":5,"filings_prev_12m":3,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":157500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-03T21:08:04+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":1}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":33,"reasons":["conf:0","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-13T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/gridsight-engagement-manager","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/gridsight-engagement-manager.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-13T22:37:00Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":34478,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-14T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":93487},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=93487"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fgridsight-engagement-manager"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fgridsight-engagement-manager"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fgridsight-engagement-manager"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/gridsight-engagement-manager\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fgridsight-engagement-manager"}]}
