This role will be responsible for the Department of Energy Grant reporting & invoicing, monthly financial close, bookkeeping, GAAP accounting, ASC 606 compliance, reporting, and tax planning while ensuring our SaaS operations scale efficiently.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nFinancial Management & Reporting\n- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.\n- Develop and monitor budgets, BVA, forecasts, and financial models aligned with business objectives.\n- Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and expense optimization.\n- Manage revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606.\nSaaS Business Finance\n- Monitor and report on key SaaS metrics, including ARR, NRR, LTV, and CAC.\n- Implement scalable financial processes to support SaaS revenue growth.\n- Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with business objectives.\nGovernment Grant Management\n- Oversee financial administration and compliance for DOE funded projects.\n- Establish and run all cost accounting policies to ensure seamless DOE invoicing\n- Track spending and manage grant reporting to ensure alignment with requirements.\n- Coordinate with project managers to ensure grant milestones and deadlines are met.\n- Prepare detailed reports for funders and external auditors.\nCompliance, Audit & Controls\n- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and grant-related policies.\n- Manage external audits and maintain the integrity of financial records.\n- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.\nTeam Leadership & Collaboration\n- Report directly to the CFO\n- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.\n- Build and maintain relationships with external partners (auditors, consultants, and grant administrators).\nQualifications\n- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA and/or MBA preferred).\n- Must have experience managing government grants and compliance reporting.\n- 7+ years of experience in financial management, including SaaS business finance.\n- Strong understanding of GAAP, SaaS revenue models, and financial metrics.\n- Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (QuickBooks Online).\n- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.\n- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nOUR CULTURE\nWe are a lean, fast-moving team that values bold thinking, reliability, and continuous learning.
