You will help shape how we model and exchange asset data with utilities as we scale, while building reliable systems used by our field teams, customers, and other engineering teams.\nThis role has a direct connection to the physical world. The software you build helps field crews complete installations and gives utilities accurate information about their grid and assets.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, build, and own backend services supporting the full lifecycle of Gridware devices and field assets.\nBuild GraphQL APIs supporting an offline-first mobile application used by field crews and utility linemen.\nDevelop reliable data pipelines and integrations for exchanging asset data with utilities.\nDesign systems and data models representing grid infrastructure, assets, and the relationships between them.\nOwn systems end to end, from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production operation.\nWork directly with field crews to understand operational workflows and see your software used in the field.\nPartner closely with Field Operations, Product, Data, and other engineering teams to translate real-world workflows into scalable software.\nContribute to architecture and technical decisions as Gridware’s systems and field deployments scale.\nRequired Skills\n5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.\nStrong experience with Python and PostgreSQL, including making schema changes to live production databases.\nExperience designing and building production GraphQL APIs and data pipelines where correctness and reliability matter.\nExperience building and operating distributed systems, including debugging and understanding failures in production.\nExperience deploying and operating services in cloud environments.
