It handles the full customer lifecycle: lead and deal management, contracting and onboarding, consumer unit registration with the DISCOs, energy allocation, invoicing, collections, and cancellation. Around it sits a growing set of services - automated scraping of distribution company portals, document workflows, APIs with service providers and our ERP system (ODOO), and internal reporting.\n\nRole & responsibilities:\n\n- System Ownership: Take full responsibility for the health, maintenance, and optimization of the Phase 1.0 Ruby on Rails application.\n\n- New Features Buildup: Ship features and improvements end to end - mainly around the billing, contract management, energy allocation, reporting, data model, business logic, background jobs, and UI.\n\n- Feature Upgrades & Maintenance: Architect and deploy necessary feature upgrades, security patches, and performance improvements to the legacy system without disrupting active enterprise users.\n\n- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work synchronously and asynchronously with the Phase 1.5 development team to align on API structures, data migrations, and system handoffs.\n\n- Database & Cloud Management: Optimize complex queries and manage our managed PostgreSQL instances (Cloud SQL) and BigQuery data warehouses on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\n\n- Reporting: Work with BigQuery as the analytical layer - maintain the views and pipelines that feed our reporting and finance workflows.\n\n- Front-End Modernization: Maintain and refine the user interface using Hotwire (Turbo/Stimulus) and TailwindCSS, keeping the application highly responsive and lightweight.\n\n- Documentation: Write clear documentation and keep the system understandable to people other than you.\n\nWhat we're looking for:\n\n- Deep Ruby on Rails Expertise: 7+ years of production experience building, maintaining, and scaling full-stack applications in Ruby on Rails.\n\n- Database Proficiency: Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including optimizing complex queries in Managed Cloud SQL environments. Experience with BigQuery is highly preferred.\n\n- Cloud Infrastructure: Proven experience navigating and deploying applications within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\n\n- Testing: Solid testing discipline (RSpec or Minitest) and experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD.\n\n- Modern Rails Front-End: Hands-on experience building dynamic interfaces using Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus) without relying on heavy Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks.\n\n- Styling: Strong proficiency in TailwindCSS.\n\n- Background Jobs: Extensive experience configuring and managing background processing with Sidekiq and Redis.\n\n- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English.
