The person in this position would support our growing operations in San Luis Obispo. This position offers technical information to the Project Manager to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications. The Project Engineer may coordinate change orders, expedite material and job site equipment, assist in the preparation of estimates, and compile data to assist in analyzing project progress. Competitive candidates will have experience on structures projects.\nEssential Functions\nPerform project start up duties.\nCoordinate and supervise subcontractors and material suppliers.\nMaintain document and project controls including preparation of:\nDaily reports\nCost codings\nSubmittals\nRFI’s\nTime and material requests\nProgress payment requests\nProvide technical support in construction planning, quality control, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, and constructability reviews to ensure successful job completion.\nRepresent company, project and/or department during client and project management meetings to ensure effective communication.\nDevelop and maintain all job reporting and logs to ensure project compliance.\nReview and monitor accounts payable, subcontracts and time sheets.\nFacilitate job site meetings.\nTrack Project Labor Costs and Equipment.\nAssemble project schedules.\nPerform job closeout duties.\nUpdate daily diary.\nPerform independent analysis of change orders.\nOther duties as assigned.\nEducation\nMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.\nSpecific Job Knowledge, Skills And Ability\nMust have a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.\nAbility to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others is essential\nExcellent writing, presentation, and computer skills.\nFirst Aid Trained\nCPR/AED Trained\nOSHA 10 Trained\nOSHA 30 Certification\nCertified QSP for SWPPP\nProficiency in reading Standard Plans and Specs\nProficiency in Reading P6 Schedules\nProficiency in Blue Beam, Sketch Up and Build2Win\nMust be proficient in material takeoffs\nThoroughly understand document controls\nMust have a valid driver’s license\nOther requirements may apply\nCompetencies\nTime Management\nEthical Conduct\nHighly Organized\nLeadership\nProblem Solving\nResults Driven\nProcess Oriented\nCommunication Proficiency (Verbal & Written)\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nFrequently required to stand and walk at construction jobsites\nFrequently required to sit for extended periods of time\nMust frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.\nCompany Benefits Package\nIn addition to offering a comprehensive benefits package for all employees - including a superior health benefits package - Griffith Company also offers generous performance-based compensation.
