This role combines data-driven insights, process optimization, change enablement, Lean coaching, and cross-functional collaboration to improve system data quality, equipment reliability, process performance, and continuous improvement capability. The incumbent will facilitate, guide, and coordinate the design and implementation of solutions that support Grindrod Container Solution’s strategic intent by embedding a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and waste elimination. This role will be instrumental in promoting and sustaining a culture of Operational Excellence across the organisation.\nJob description\nData & Insight\nAnalyse operational data to identify trends, variances, and waste.\nVariance analysis of actual vs forecasting/budgets within depth understanding of key variances\nAssist operations to align with basic accounting principles\nEnsure agreed customer rates (including costs) are applied in the operational system as well as \nBuild visual dashboards and KPI reports (Power BI/Excel).\nQuantify improvement opportunities and develop benefits cases.\nProcess, System & Workflow Improvement\nMap and diagnose end-to-end operational processes (value stream mapping, SIPOC).\nIdentify bottlenecks, waste, duplication, and systems-related inefficiencies.\nCollaborate with IT/Data teams to optimise system workflows and data integrity.\nFacilitate Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and process redesign workshops.\nLean Training & Capability Building\nDeliver Lean training at foundational and intermediate levels.\nCoach teams in Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Problem Solving, SMED, Kanban).\nDrive adoption and sustainment of Lean principles in daily operations.\nImprovement Design & Implementation\nSupport deployment of strategic improvement projects.\nDevelop implementation plans, SOPs, and control plans.\nPilot and scale solutions;
