The companys collaborative culture and focus on professional development ensure a rewarding and dynamic work environment.\nPosition Overview\nThe HVAC Design Lead Engineer will lead a team of electrical and HVAC engineers in designing and developing modular building systems and integrated HVAC solutions. This role will be both technical and client-facing, responsible for ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables, managing communications with stakeholders, and driving process improvements within the engineering function.\nThe ideal candidate has a strong background in HVAC systems design, leadership experience, and a passion for innovation within modular and industrial environments.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nLead a team of electrical and HVAC engineers in producing and updating General (G Sheets), HVAC (M Sheets), and Electrical (E Sheets) for Issued for Approval, As-Built, and Closeout Submittal drawing sets.\nServe as the project lead and primary point of contact for clients and internal manufacturing teams.\nAttend and lead engineering meetings and calls, providing clear updates on team progress, challenges, and project needs.\nDevelop and standardize Integrated Manufacturing HVAC designs and HVAC controls for modular e-houses.\nConduct final reviews of drawing sets to ensure compliance with client specifications, project scope, and all applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.\nVerify and validate heat load calculations and ensure proper HVAC equipment sizing for each project.\nCreate and/or review CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses to ensure thermal performance meets design requirements.\nProvide technical input and hands-on support in AutoCAD as needed to update or create engineering drawings.\nCollaborate with HVAC, Enclosure, and Electrical vendors and suppliers to select the best engineered systems for each project.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nCoordinate with internal engineering disciplines to align HVAC and electrical design requirements.\nKeep the Engineering Manager informed on design issues, schedule impacts, and resolutions.\nSupport the manufacturing/production team by answering technical questions and providing guidance.\nContribute to process improvement initiatives, including workflow mapping, standard work documentation, and process optimization for the engineering team.\nParticipate in client design meetings, occasional site visits, and industry conferences to maintain technical expertise and professional presence.\nEngage with the production floor to observe work, provide feedback, and support a culture of quality and collaboration.\nPromote innovation and continuous improvement in modular building HVAC design through creative problem-solving and collaboration.\nQualifications & Requirements\nBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (PE license preferred).\n5-10 years of HVAC engineering experience, including leadership or project management responsibilities.\nStrong working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, or similar tools a plus.\nProven experience designing HVAC systems for industrial or modular building environments.\nUnderstanding of national and local mechanical/electrical codes and standards.\nExperience conducting or reviewing CFD analysis and heat load calculations.\nExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and with external vendors.\nDemonstrated initiative in process improvement and engineering innovation.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits\nOpportunities for leadership development and career advancement\nCollaborative, team-oriented culture focused on innovation\nStability with a respected, long-standing industry leader\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nOur client is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
