You will serve as a key client-facing leader, helping develop competitive project strategies, challenge assumptions, identify smarter solutions, and ensure every proposal reflects a strong understanding of the scope, schedule, risk, and client expectations.\nYou will work closely with sales, estimating, engineering, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to position projects for success before they ever reach the field.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead the Preconstruction Process\nServe as a primary representative of the client during the bidding, proposal, preconstruction, and design phases of projects.\nOwn coordination of front-end project activities from initial opportunity review through formal handoff to the Operations Project Manager.\nMaintain visibility into scope, pricing, schedule, design requirements, procurement needs, and project risks throughout preconstruction.\nDrive Bid Strategy & Prioritization\nPartner with sales, leadership, estimating, and operations teams to evaluate opportunities and prioritize bids.\nDevelop and maintain bid and preconstruction schedules to ensure internal teams remain aligned with customer deadlines.\nCoordinate resources and deliverables required to produce complete, competitive proposals.\nReview Scope & Project Requirements\nReview drawings, specifications, schedules, qualifications, bid documents, and other project requirements in detail.\nConfirm estimates capture the complete anticipated scope and associated costs.\nIdentify gaps, inconsistencies, exclusions, and potential project risks before proposal submission.\nEngage customers directly when requirements are unclear and clearly document assumptions or proposed approaches.\nChallenge the Status Quo\nLook beyond simply pricing the drawings provided.\nIdentify alternative approaches that may improve constructability, cost, schedule, quality, or execution.\nWork with customers and internal subject matter experts to develop value-added solutions that differentiate the proposal from competitors.\nApproach project decisions with the mindset of spending the customer's money as carefully as your own.\nCoordinate Engineering & Proposal Development\nPartner with engineering leadership to develop sales package plans and supporting drawings for bid proposals.\nCoordinate with estimating and marketing teams to ensure proposals are complete, accurate, professional, and technically compelling.\nPerform final reviews of estimates and proposals prior to submission.\nEnsure proposals demonstrate a clear understanding of the client's project, scope, and execution requirements.\nUpon Project Award\nContract & Commercial Coordination\nCoordinate internal review of purchase orders and contracts with leadership and legal teams.\nReview project scope, schedule commitments, payment terms, commercial requirements, and awarded contract value.\nHelp ensure appropriate contract documentation is finalized before execution begins.\nLaunch Preconstruction Activities\nEstablish internal pre-kickoff meetings with leadership, engineering, estimating, and other project stakeholders.\nCommunicate award details, commitments, risks, assumptions, and outstanding items.\nDevelop Project Financial Structure\nCoordinate with the client and internal teams to develop the project Schedule of Values.\nSupport preparation and submission of initial project billing and additional preconstruction billing as required.\nBuild the Project Schedule\nWork with the client and internal project leadership to develop a high-level project schedule.\nEstablish critical milestones including design approvals, material releases, fabrication requirements, shipment dates, and site delivery dates.\nUse the schedule to drive client approvals and validate commitments with subcontractors and vendors.\nSupport Procurement\nCoordinate early purchase orders for long-lead materials, equipment, vendors, and subcontractors.\nValidate supplier and subcontractor timelines against project schedule requirements.\nIdentify procurement risks early and drive resolution before they impact project execution.\nCoordinate Design & Submittals\nPartner with engineering leadership to develop Issued for Approval packages and associated design schedules.\nCoordinate expectations with the client regarding submittal reviews, approval timelines, revisions, and release dates.\nMaintain visibility into design progress and issues that could impact procurement or production.\nLead Client & Internal Coordination\nLead and participate in client meetings during bidding, preconstruction, design, and early project execution.\nCommunicate project progress, outstanding needs, risks, and required decisions clearly and accurately.\nCoordinate closely with engineering and operations teams throughout the front end of the project.\nEnsure decisions, commitments, and expectations are clearly documented and communicated.\nTransition Projects to Operations\nRemain actively involved with awarded projects until the Operations Project Manager is prepared to assume full project leadership.\nLead or support formal project kickoff and turnover meetings.\nProvide the Project Manager with a clear understanding of:Contract scope\nCommercial commitments\nSchedule requirements\nDesign status\nProcurement status\nClient expectations\nOutstanding risks and action items\n\nEnsure the Operations team has the documentation, background, and resources required to successfully execute the project.\nRemain available during the transition to answer questions and provide continuity.\nBuild Lasting Relationships\nDevelop strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.\nBuild trust, credibility, and reliability throughout the preconstruction process.\nHelp create a customer experience that drives repeat business and long-term partnerships.\nMaintain a strong understanding of why proposals are won or lost and apply those lessons to future opportunities.\nWhat You Bring\n7+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, project management, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a related environment\nDemonstrated experience managing complex bids, proposals, and preconstruction activities\nStrong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, and commercial documents\nExperience reviewing estimates and identifying missing scope, risks, assumptions, and cost considerations\nAbility to understand project requirements from both a technical and commercial perspective\nExperience coordinating engineering, estimating, sales, operations, vendors, and subcontractors\nStrong knowledge of project scheduling and critical milestone development\nExperience supporting procurement and long-lead material planning\nAbility to challenge designs and identify value engineering or alternative execution strategies\nStrong client-facing communication and presentation skills\nAbility to lead meetings and confidently communicate with customers, executives, engineers, estimators, and field operations teams\nStrong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities\nHighly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through\nAbility to manage multiple opportunities and project priorities simultaneously\nStrong understanding of project handoff and the information Operations teams need to execute successfully\nExperience within electrical construction, manufacturing, modular construction, prefabrication, data centers, or mission-critical infrastructure strongly preferred\nBachelor's degree in
